I've been feeling pretty well and thought I was stable. I have a very new issue for which I would like some insight.

For about two months I have been having difficulty opening my left eye when I wake up. It feels like a muscle issue. Once open there are no problems throughout the day and no drooping.

Leading up to this in early June I had a very bad eye reaction to cigarette smoke (I was in Vegas). It seems like the left eye never fully recovered and it is red in the AM and tears a little (no crusting).

I just don't see how the above would tie in with the ability to open it though. I am seeing an eye doctor tomorrow for the redness but would like to see if anyone has some insight on the muscle issue. I'm sure it is Lyme related somehow. Anyone else have this?

Forgot to mention it doesn't happen every day. I just went about 10 days without it happening.

Yeah, I got the same thing. Same eye. Same time in the morning.

I also have a left hand that refuses to move. Lasts about 10 seconds. Like its muscles are paralized. As quick as it comes, it's gone just as fast.

Now my right leg is doing it. Disconnects from my brain. It will go offline for 10 seconds or so and then it connects with brain.
I ll catch myself when walking, out of the blue.

No pain with any of these. But very weird. Have no answers.
Sorry

I've had that. I wake up and lay there, open my eyes and wham...right eye opensbut left eye won't. it happened almost every day.

sometimes I just used my hand to raise it. my eyelids would droop really bad. I looked hungover.

now I just ignore it but its never really gone away.

Bartenderbonnie, you just made me remember this happened to my left hand one time! I was coming to my back gate after walking the dog, had the dog on the leash in my right hand and tried to lift the latch on the gate with my left....I couldn't lift my arm. That has only happened once.

Randi, you made me laugh a little, Maybe I can try manually opening the eye.

I am puzzled that I would get a new symptom while in remission. I never even had these things happen when I was in the thick of it.

Does this mean the disease is trying to become active or is this just fallout?
