For those of you who have treated Bartonella and kicked it, what happened to your titers?
Did they increase or decrease with treatment?
My titers started at 1:64 and with treatment have gone up to 1:256. They have stayed the same for several months now and I was hoping they would decrease.
One doctor said to me when titers don't change that means it's indicative of past infection.
My other titers for co-infections have decreased with treatment so I'm wondering what to expect with my bartonella titers. I don't want to stop my treatment if my titers should be decreasing.
Because I have Lyme as well it's hard to know precisely which are my Bart symptoms and which are Lyme but my current treatment has stopped my recurring swollen lymph nodes and decreased muscle twitching which I believe are from Bartonella.
Thanks for your help!

Hey Ocean Girl,
You said... "My other titers for co-infections have decreased with treatment so I'm wondering what to expect with my bartonella titers. I don't want to stop my treatment if my titers should be decreasing."
I don't blame you. There is no test that can determine if you have an active or past Bartonella infection (as you probably know).
I don't have any reason to believe (according to the science) that the titers will go up or down or whatever with or without adequate treatment. And because we can't always distinguish bart from Lyme symptoms...
My suggestion would be to consider treating until you are better, as we do for Lyme disease. Wish I could offer more, but I can only use the "better safe than sorry" rule here.
Thank you for your response. I know that titers are not an exact science unfortunately.
But fortunately for me, my swollen lymph nodes always are predictive of an active Bart infection for me as they go away with Bart treatment.
I see my doc today so I will discuss this with him. Thanks for your response - much appreciated.
