Hi - my cousin has just rec'd a clinical Dx of Lyme. She would like to test with Igenex. I looked at the Igenex website and saw that all has changed. Has anyone been able to decipher the tests - old and new? I think she would want to do the usual WB for Bb IgG and IgM - and the IgG IgM for Bart. Are those basic tests still offered at reasonable price? I can't make sense of it all. She will see her doctor this week and wants to do the testing ASAP. BTW - do they offer new and better tests than previously? TIA.

I just called Igenex. The gal told me they have a newer and supposedly better test; the Immunoblot. I'm so out of the loop. If one has never been tested before - what tests best to order? The Immunoblot for IgG/IgM costs $450 The Western Blot for both is now $250 for both.
For Bart. I wrote down IgG and IgM $285 - not sure if that is for both or each. I can't seem to find the prices on their website.

The culture test vs CDC was such a big thing. Surely by now that has been resolved? And FWIW I was one of the first to do the test. I did not have the sequencing done. IIRC the sequencing part of the test is what came into question. Also........it took the max time of about ten weeks for my culture to grow/show positive. Seems I read that would mean mine was the wild type (not a "store bought") which grows more quickly - also ruling out contamination. Are we still in the dark ages with all of this?

Has anyone had Igenex Western and their new Immunoblot run at the same time, especially for IgM? Did Immunoblot show bands that Western did not, that is, more sensitivity? SHow same bands "stronger".
WOuld be great to get any insight into this.
Thanks!!

I'm reeling over the cost. I had Igenex in 2011. I had the Western blot IgG and IgM along with IFA.....all for around $260.
I also hear mention of Armin Labs in Germany and how "good" they are. Anyone have any information on them?
