New Lyme Vaccine Trial Results Are In.

Quote- "The next clinical phase is intended to be conducted in Lyme-endemic regions and will include people previously infected with Borrelia burgdorferi, the bacteria that cause Lyme disease."

BTW- Those who had Lyme before getting the last vaccine were some of the worst cases of illness and adverse events.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT- How can they even think of making a safe and effective vaccine when the studies and trials to check the vaccine's safety and effectiveness are based on the results of LYME BLOOD TESTS that miss 74.9% of those with Lyme disease?

They are dangerously putting the cart before the horse, in my opinion.

The very first thing I noticed is that this company is in France, where the trials were conducted. It's unlikely that anyone here in the US would volunteer for such a vaccine trial because too many folks who understand the risks are vigilant enough to warn against it.

The next thing that caught my eye is this statement:

"The target population includes individuals at risk living in endemic areas, people planning to travel to endemic areas to pursue outdoor activities and people at risk who have a history of Lyme disease (as infection with Borrelia does not confer protective immunity against all pathogenic Borrelia species)."

Also:
"Vaccination with OspA was already proven to work in the 1990s and VLA15 pre-clinical data showed that the vaccine has the potential to provide protection against the majority of the Borrelia species pathogenic for humans[6]."

Also:
"The global market for a vaccine against Lyme disease is currently estimated at approximately €700 - €800 million annually."

Thanks for warning us about this, TinCup -- and also thanks ever so much for posting the link to the press release, so that we can check it out for ourselves.

Let's hope that the folks at Lymenet-Euro (or whatever it's called) are on their toes and make a loud uproar over this.

Vaccination with OspA was "already proven to work".... oh, dear God. It made a lot of people very ill, if that is what they mean by "work[ing]"...

They will never admit their errors, the damage. To them, it just didn't sell so well [partly due to patient word of mouth they wish they could have muffled] and that's the only reason they took it off the market. Poor sales.

We have to be so on our toes.
