I am on doxy and ababs for lyme and babesia. I believe I am herxing although I do not know what to expect. can someone please explain to me how you feel when you are herxing? I am extremely tired, every joint in my body is hurting, my head feels like its in a bubble and I feel "out of it". I called my llmd and she said it was nothing. I think I need a new lyme doctor for sure but in the meantime, I need some help. Do you herx only when starting up meds or changing meds or do you herx while on meds? Very confused.

Everyone fells herx sx in a different way. Basically it's your everyday sx magnified in intensity.
Oh yeah, sometimes there will be new sx that arise that throw you into fear and anxiety because they pop out of nowhere and cause one to make ER visits.
It's a booommmm!. During those periods it's especially important to treat your body with kindness and use your detox protocols to help the major organs liver, kidneys, brain purge the toxic matter.

You can herx at any time .. from changing meds, new meds (usually about the 4th day of any changes), or every 3-5 weeks.
I just seemed to be in a constant herx when I was treating Lyme.
Hope you have leads on a new doctor.

- The definition here should also help explain it. Liver support is what helps it. Best to prevent it, though. Far better and safer than trying to settle it.
Although, it can be a tricky dance in figuring out just what to have in place so that it might be prevented or lessened. Still, if it flares up, vital to have tools to use right away.

To me it feels like the flu times 100! You get a weird feeling that comes over you and it's like when you get the flu out of nowhere and it comes on like lightning.
It's true everyone has it different but once you have it you will know it in the future.
Some lucky people barely get it. Boy are they lucky!
