I have had pain with urination which progressed to round the clock pain for 2 months, I have seen pcp, gyn, and now urologist. No one can find anything wrong. Pain was so bad have had to go to ER. Now living on topical lidocaine and pyridium. Was treated for yeast, and virus med just in case it might work but it did not help. Lyme doc says maybe bartonella. If anyone has suffered with this type of issue I would love to know what worked to help you. I have had 4 surgeries, and many root canals but this constant pain has been the worst ever. Doctors refuse to give oral pain med because they find nothing wrong.

Hi bullmastiffuvr

I feel for you.
I remember that pain well, suicidal pain. Horrible.
I believe mine was caused by Bart. Urinalysis found unidentified organism, among other things.

There is hope, it will go away.
Here's my original post;

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/1/135449?#000012

First, get a copy of your urinalysis. Sometimes what your doctor tells you differs from the report. Mine did.

I found gabapentin 100 or 200 mg at night helped greatly.
I did once a week in office catheter treatments for 2 months.
Then did once every 2 weeks in office catheter treatments for one more month. The medication injected was called Rimso-50. This put it in remission.

I did many other things too but those are what gave me lasting and life-saving results. Hope you find relief soon.

Hey!

Go to a great urologist - look up urologists in your area online so you can read their reviews before deciding which one to go to.

You might have Interstitial Cystitis, also called Painful Bladder Syndrome. It is chronic inflammation of the bladder. I have Interstitial Cystitis and for me it was caused by Bartonella. Be sure to get tested for Bartonella, because it is known to attack the bladder.

Yes, could definitely be Interstitial Cystitis. Have they cultured your urine? (let's hope so)

Find a urologist who knows how to test and treat IC.

Thank you for the help. I am having a cystoscope Saturday so maybe something will show up. My doctors would not culture my urine becaiuse the initial analysis was all normal three different times. I hope this is not a lyme related problem.

Tincup just posted this about the horrible Bartonella testing results.

https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/24/5/15-2033_article

Even if testing comes back normal, doesn't mean it's not there.
It can be diagnosised clinically by a LLMD.
Mainstream doctor's require a positive test before they treat and if they do treat, it's usually not long enough to produce long lasting positive outcomes.

Your LLMD can send your sample to a speciality lab but it will not be covered by insurance. Frustrating, we know.

It probably is a Lyme-related, or Bartonella-related problem. But the good thing about that is that it will get better with treatment.

That's so strange that they won't culture your urine again.

If you're diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis, feel free to post here or send me a message. I'm happy to tell you what has helped me

Those "many" Root Canals could be irritating and leading straight to the bladder. Look at Teeth Meridian charts on the web.

Each tooth has four miles of meridians that run to different organs, areas of the body.

I bet you make a connection with your root canals to your bladder.

The mouth is connected to the rest of the body. This isn't voodoo, it's facts. Find a bio-dentist that gets it.

Cystoscopy was negative. Luckily pain has diminished as quickly as it came on! Two months I was in such misery. Hard to believe there was no cause which was able to be detected. Thank you everyone for the suggestions.

wow .. glad to hear .. You can also try following the diet for IC. Maybe you accidentally ate safe foods.
