I just finished another semester of university. Wasn't working all school year and just recently ran out of $ and supplements. I will get my first paycheck in a few weeks from my summer job.

I cold-turkey quit my herbal routine (Zhang herbs among other things) for probably 3-4 weeks now. Symptoms have returned with a vengeance and have been godawful; feeling drugged, brain fog and behaving like I have Alzheimer's, wanting to sleep/nap all the time and feeling groggy like I just woke up throughout the day, feeling almost flu-ish, sweating and feeling irritable with the slightest heat, photo-phobia, ringing ears, buzzing in brain, etc. etc.

Can anyone clue me in on this one: now today I'm getting pulsing chill/burning combination feeling in my scalp and base of neck running down my back. Feels like being stung by a bee and pouring pure peppermint oil on all at once.

Sounds like a nasty inflammation, a cytokine storm vengeance...

Have you got babesia or bartonella?

Tested positive for bart H., not babesia.

Is the "cytokine storm" a good thing or a bad thing in terms of immune response? Attacking infection or my own body? :\

well that's interesting.... had no idea what that was but I went to the doc today (non-llmd, no idea what's really going on with me) and my bp was low 119/56. I've definitely been feeling that... dizzy, weak, vision issues, etc. I bought some gatorade.

any suggestions on what I should do to help myself?

PS could this also be related to using echincea and stopping cold turkey (when I ran out), followed by colostrum? I'm late-stage btw... diagnosed in 2009 originally but had it even before that.

Sorry to know you have to self treat...
I would not take chemical drinks like Gatorade. Sugar will make things worse, as it acidifies the body.

What I would do is to load myself with antioxidants and binders. I find MSM one good, inexpensive and efficient binder that works with so many toxins...

Easy to take, even though it tastes bitter.

Other binders are DE, clay, chlorella, spirulina.

Stuff that always helps are medicinal teas, like cistus incanus, wormwood (if you don't have babesia), nettle, dandelion, sage, etc

And the normal supplements: omega 3, evening primrose oils, or any good cold pressed oil...

Electrolytes (you can produce them on your own with Himalayan salt) are a must, or coconut water... Or celery / cucumber (fresh, eaten or in a smoothie).

For antioxidants, one of my favorites is blueberry with any berry inside: frozen is fine, if you find the wild blueberry, it seems to work better: you just mix it and drink it, it usually helps me.

Or any veggie juice with green leaves inside.

All chemical drinks, I would avoid them .

Anything that supports the liver, lymph, kidney and gut: that is what I would concentrate.

Liver supplements are a must, in my opinion...

I hope this helps.

I also took colostrum, but I can't remember how I reacted...

It's been long ago.

I used to take some whey, but stopped since I stopped taking milk products. I never felt it helped a lot, but who knows, long term, it could do something?

Apart from boosting the immune system, I think that what most people miss is the THOROUGH cleansing that must accompany any treatment.

For me, cleansing comes first.

Cleansing alone can boost the immune system, in my experience. Much milder boost and more efficient long term.

Echinacea cannot anyway be taken for more than 2 weeks in a row. It would exhaust the immune system. It is to be taken only ON and OFF, like all ginseng products too (eleuthero included...).

Thank u for all the info Brussels. Especially the DYI tips. That is especially helpful to me as a student as I'm essentially broke. Finding ways to make your own supplements and whatnot is a plus.
