I was just wondering if taking Diflucan or Nystatin in tandem with abx is absolutely required when taking long-term abx? Has anyone taken long-term abx without being on an antifungal at the same time? Is there an alt OTC medicine that can be used as substitute if you cannot get a Rx for one of the aforementioned drugs?

It may be best to take a week or more blast of Diflucan to knock down the load, then take Nystatin or herbals long term for maintenance.
OTC herbals include:
sliced garlic in capsules in AM GSE wheatgrass juice oil of oregano colloidal silver pau'd arco Olive leaf Extract
NOW brand Candida Support has most of the above in a capsule form.
I have heard it is best to take frequent breaks from the anti-fungal herbals to prevent building up resistance.
Right now I include Diflucan in with my Rx ABX pulse schedule of 2 weeks ON and 3 weeks OFF. During the OFF weeks I take the NOW Candida Support capsules

- Absolutely, some kind of solid antifungal is required with antibiotic treatment. That need not be an Rx, though, as some of the Rx antifungals can be very hard on the liver.
OLE (Seagate) worked better for me than any Rx antifungal ever did. Best to start BEFORE starting the abx.for a day or more if possible, though so that candida doesn't even get out of hand.

It isn't required, but if you have a yeast infection, you probably will want to be on one. And, of course, a high quality probiotic taken at least 2 hours away from antibiotics
I very highly recommend Nutribiotic Grapefruit Seed Extract supplements. That has killed yeast infections for me that prescription antifungals couldn't kill. It's also healthy for the body

I just ordered GSE. Read some controversial stuff about it online but seems like one of the more effective options.
