This is a list of foods that builds acid or builds alkaline state in the body.
It's in German, but you can use a online translator.
Pathogens, 'bad' candida, 'bad' fungi, they all THRIVE when the body is mostly acid.
Enderlein could simply change the milieu slowly, and he literally saw transformation in the darkfield microscope --- how all pathogens changed their form to become pathogenic.
He (and others) saw that 100 years ago, that is when he came with the milieu therapy theory, that it is still in vogue today...
Arthritis, osteoarthrosis, osteoporosis, cavities, most cardiac diseases etc, all that can only happen when the milieu is acid (in wrong places).
Of course, the stomach must be acid, and certain areas of the body MUST be also acid, but many areas of the body (like blood) must be mostly alkaline to function.
Taking alkaline powders is just a short term 'solution'.
The only way to do it right is to take enough alkaline foods...
And it seems there are good acid foods too, that we need (in order to build acidity in the right places). I haven't really read a lot about that yet, but the list above shows the 'good' acid foods!
This list in interesting. There are other lists too.
I still get so many tick bites. So many, every year I got about 6-10 or more attached ticks.
I barely treat them (unless I start to feel dizzy after a bite, or tired...).
I wonder if diet is not protecting me against falling ill again (?)

Another way to see the same milieu problem are the books of Anthony William (the medical medium).
He's got lots of suggestions of which foods are good (coincidentally, the most alkaline foods in the list above are usually highly recommended in his books).
He even got one book with recipes, that I like.
In his view, if mankind does not change the way of eating, mankind won't thrive. It's in fact, in real danger, according to him.
So many diseases can be cured by correct eating. That is the main idea / lesson of his books.
Of course, it takes a long time to correct lyme disease ONLY by eating (I think it may be possible if fasting is involved; he also suggests fasting).
Without the push of fasting, better continuing with herbs and treatments, while adding a correct nutritional plan parallel.
But long term, I think eating 'correctly' / well is the only way to keep healthy.

I’m very interested in this. Do you have any other good links? I measure my saliva every morning. I drink lots of lemon water and eat alkaline foods, but some say it doesn’t really matter how alkaline the food is as we each have a different system.

Hi Haley, nice you'd like to try it.
There are many charts, and they vary...
I follow usually the German sites, I find they are the ones who really pioneered on that (the milieu theory, and I'm a fan of Dr Rau and Sanum), and they have longer experience with people trying these diets.
It's not that you should avoid all acid foods, but eat a lot more of alkaline foods than acid.
What is nice here is that Dr Axe compares the Paleo Diet with the Alkaline Diet, which are pretty different.
I can't really feel good on Paleo: the excess of animal protein clogs my liver, somehow, I feel slow, not active, more heavy in a sense...
I prefer to concentrate on higher intake of vegetables, specially raw (the closest to raw, the best I feel).
What kills hunger in this type of diet (for me) is at least, one meal including a big salad bowl (with lots of green leaves).
This or cooked potatoes in greater amounts.
When I think about human evolution, and what men were eating in most of human history, I tend to think they were eating closer to alkaline diets (with bits of acid foods), and that is what I think my DNA feels like eating!
Grains in high amounts are off (only a recent addition), white flours were nonexistent, white sugar, excessive brown sugar and processed foods either.
I find the alkaline diet (with bits of 'good acid foods') is not a bad diet, because in the end, you are not totally restricted, you only add more of alkaline and lower the acid!
the more I read and study, the more I get convinced that only a diet, taken long term, can really support someone to heal from chronic diseases.
Specially with age, if the diet is not contributing for real nutrition and cleansing the body, you'll see the results in the years that pass by - in cardiac diseases, joint stiffness, arthritis, brain fog, memory problems, fatigue, infections (viral usually) that never disappear etc.
Living in this toxic world does not help: toxins are extreme acidic. That's why a counter measure is necessary!
Another way of seeing the problem, but reaching the same type of advice on alkaline foods, are the books from Anthony Williams.
I read the Life Changing Foods and Medical Medium books. He really recommends foods that are alkaline (without mentioning the word), and warns about toxic foods - GMOs, Monosodium glutamate, artificial flavors, canola oil, etc
Very different 'approach' but the recommended foods are usually alkaline.
