It started around when I was 18 years old. I had always been very articulate and well spoken. I didn't have to study much as I remembered information well.
At 18 I started smoking pot and I started having problems with my short term memory. I couldn't recall past conversations or information, even if I made a point to remember it. Ha, I just assumed it was because of the pot use.
This was 12 years ago and while it did get better and I focus pretty well now. I have been going down hill lately.
It comes in spurts, but I've noticed lately that I have been having trouble spelling and forgetting words. I also type words that aren't what I had in my mind. It's like my brain isn't working at times.
Does this sound like Brain fog or what? Could it be all this dang medication they have me on?

I always have to proof read everything I write at least 4 or 5 times because I just can't get it right. I never used to have to do it.
I am not being treated for my Lyme atm. I do try and supplement with what I have read about, but no prescriptions specifically for Lyme, only for the symptoms it has caused me.

Also remember the brain and the GI track are very very connected.
Sometimes our pains all over the rest of our body are so overwhelming that we don't realize how much our gut is screaming for help.

Here's a simple experiment anyone could try - taking turmeric powder, which is anti-inflammatory. I take capsules of it everyday. I get the powder and empty capsules from the health food store.
I notice great reduction in joint and muscle pain. Who knows what it's doing in the entire body.
I look at the logic of it - it's anti-inflammatory, so it might also be de-inflaming the brain.
If we try anything, then to see whether any particular symptoms are diminishing.

Robin, unfortunately not everyone can digest turmeric... I couldn't, during active lyme disease.
It caused me a lot of stomach pain. Even after lyme, it was never an easy powder to take.
I usually masked it in food (rice or other food I cooked), but the amount was ridiculous (like half a coffee spoon for a whole meal for 4 people).
Recently, I can take about 1/2 a coffee spoon at once because I encapsulated it in my liposomal preparations. It causes no stomach problem.
But pure, in powder form, turmeric was hard for me to digest. Fortunately not everyone is like me.
I had much more results with chorella. Chlorella is also antiinflammatory, there are also many studies proving it.
I agree with you on this point: only by taking chlorella in BIG amounts, I got very big improvements in all areas: mind, breathing, joints, gut, that were very easily noticeable after each intake.
But as with turmeric, not everyone can digest chlorella. And when someone is very toxic, a bit of chlorella can cause ravage.

Ya'll this is the one symptom that has me in tears.
I can deal with the joint pain, migraines, urinary pain and hearing problems, but to know that my brain, my intelligence, is going scares the **** out of me.
Physical pain is something I'm used to because I've had to deal with it my whole life.
I will try the turmeric and see if that helps. I've even wondered if I should just take Ginkgo Biloba.
Thanks for the help.
EDIT: because I didn't proof read well enough and misspelled words.

Also, have you had your thyroid levels checked? Finding out I was hypothyroid and going on Armour thyroid helped me think a lot more clearly.
