I am treating Lyme, and I seem to be having an issue with the inside air where I live. I suspect either Volatile organic compounds (VOCs), mold, or something in the dust.

I am looking for the companies that test air quality. I am looking for recommendation on companies near or in Chicago.

I hope others can supply to you the exact perfect contact.

In the meantime or to add to your research listings:

you could start with your local or state American Lung Association for names of professionals in your area who assess indoor air, especially if you have gas heat or kitchen / fireplace hookups.

They helped me years ago and know a lot about mold, really.

GAS HEAT / GAS anything? your local (non-emergency number) FIRE DEPARTMENT can guide in checking out gas fittings and such. Sometimes they will come out themselves for no cost.

And for beyond that, they might have suggestions for certified air professionals who go beyond that.

You might be able to find the detail for the materials in your home if filed by the local builder to your local governments - city hall, etc. - that certify phases of construction.

Doctors near you who treat autism or organizations that support autism would like know, too, about mold remediation professionals - or even how to check your air for - whatever.

If the doctors don't know my guess is some parents will surely. Those with autism really have to pay more attention to this kind of thing. Support groups are great to share details like this.

You might also some an MCS support group in your area with a list all ready for you.

Here are 2 sets of notes that I took from lyme conferences. The 2 speakers are mold experts. Perhaps they will give you some leads. I hope so.
