My doc wants me to test both the houses I frequent with ermi. How many areas can one kit test? On another group, I was told mold inspectors and remediation are 2 seperate people to hire. Is that right? One can't do both? Whats the most cost effective way to remove it, taking into consideration I need to Do this to 2 houses? I was also told, by the owner of the house I'm at most, that there's a 'bomb' you can use in your house and it kills the mold. They've done another type of bomb when they're out of town to kill ants. Do they work?

I am in that group. I don't have the 150 for the test. And they're saying you need another guy to inspect the house then another to get rid of the mold. Now multiply that by 2. Unless I take up hooking or robbing banks that's impossible. The only thing of any value I own is my Yaris and I need that. I came here for other opinions or options.

I don't have any information on mold removeral, I haven't addressed that issue yet. No money.
I know this might be a band-aid fix, but it might help alleviate some sufferring until you get answers and figure it out;
I recently listened to a few of the Toxic Mold Summit presentations and one of them mentioned these products as a huge breakthrough in mold problems as its completely non toxic and you can fog your entire home, furniture, all belongings, car etc..
Apparently you can spray it in a crib and put a baby in it a few minutes later with no harm.

It takes thousands of dollars to have one house properly inspected and having mold properly removed.
$150 either way is not going to get it. I have folks in my Lyme support group that have been down this very expensive and intensive road.
One moved from that home, but his wife took some sentimental items to the new home....now the new home has the mold spores.
One had a contractor removing the mold and rebuild for several months while they lived in a mobile home on their property.

Contact Dr. Lisa Nagy (there is a link there), as she is a mold expert. She is not a LLMD, however.

six, how does this work? Ozone plus HEPA filter air purifer? It doesn't say on the website.

If the drywall already has a bad mold infestation (plus probably in the lathing under the plaster, too), I don't think anything like this could work. Sadly.
We're facing this now ourselves, belatedly and it's huge! Especially since we rent and the landlord wants to do a quick and dirty fix (not that that's what they're saying). The whole situation is horrifying.

i have a similar air purifier, the AirOasis. Chris Kresser was treating me for CIRS (mold) and he recommended them. I even got a little one for traveling too. I got mine used since they can be expensive but I plan on having them the rest of my life so worth the cost.
If you rent I would speak with a housing attorney...the landlord is liable for health issues you face as a consequence of an unsafe environment.
