I’m taking this now and having lots of swelling. Wondering if the swelling will go down when I’m off it.

Hi Lymewreck36:

I hope the swelling was just temporary and good luck with the Dapsone protocol. Keep us posted on how your doing with this.

Hi Robin:

Besides Dr. Y's research with the Daptomycin, Ceftriaxone and doxycycline I believe this was the medicine protocol used by the LLMD in Hyde Park.

Daptomycin is not inexpensive.

I know my daughter has been on Doxy and Ceftriaxone (Rocephin) in the past.

I see Doxy has come back down in price from a spike a few years back.

I'm so eager to here about other people's results with Dapsone. I was so excited when I heard Dr. H speak on his successes and am hopeful that other LLMD's will follow in his path to trying it.

I used dapsone for many months along with cef and mino. It did not help.

If Lyme is truly chimeric, it might help explain why abx helps in some, and does not in others.

That's highly speculative, though. That the dapsone protocol failed in me is not.

Interestingly, what the treatment did seem to do was convert me from IgG positive to IgM positive, so maybe it was heading in the right direction. When I stopped, I resumed being IgG positive.

My anecdotal experience.

I felt great, within hours of my first dose. My head was clear my eyesight crisper.

But that was also a problem. It appears to be a potent anti inflammatory, and that inflammation, while it made me feel worse, was also keeping the illness in check.

Within a week my Babesia symptoms were much worse.

Dapsone was hands down the worst drug I’ve ever taken.

I’d rather be hospitalized again for serotonin syndrome or anaphylaxis!

I’m sorry, I would not want my friends or family to try that protocol.

Also, Dapsone isn’t proven to be effective in treating Lyme. If people get better they likely had another infection, like a missing piece of the puzzle for some people.

From my readings I thought Dapsone is not only for the cyst form of Lyme but also for Bartonella.

We still haven't tried this for our daughter but its on the radar.

This book by LLMD Marty Ross (link below) explains all of the pros and cons of using Dapsone, especially the importance of pre-testing for a certain genetic polymorphism which leads to G6PD deficiency because it could cause hemolysis which can lead to a very bad form of anemia. (pg. 54)
https://www.amazon.com/Antigerm-Action-Plans-Lyme-Disease/dp/1732825416/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2QLCGBV0GLTAQ&keywords=marty+ross+lyme&qid=1561339320&s=books&sprefix=Marty+Ross%2Caps%2C151 &sr=1-1

Also, Dapsone blocks folate metabolism, according to this same author. (pg. 54)

His dapsone protocol can be found on pg. 55.

This book is well worth it's price -- only $9.99 in electronic format -- because it is very detailed and authoritative by an experienced LLMD. It covers all of the successful combination antibiotic protocols plus many herbal protocols and various combinations of both antibiotic and herbal protocols.

He also holds weekly live Q&A webinars to supplement his book. A real bargain indeed.
