Both of the two main respiratory clinics in my small city have said that they do not do nasal swabs. I want a diagnosis of what is causing my perpetual sinus infection. They guy I saw there just said they do not do them.
Does anyone know why they do not do these tests? Does anyone know how I might get them? Am I asking for the wrong test?
Thanks from Sheryl

From my understanding, a nasal swab wouldn't reach into the sinuses and come back as being normal flora.
I found a doctor who did sinuplasty and he did cultures. That's what I was looking for and couldn't get until I saw him.
He was my 7th or 8th ENT specialist. I don't know if you can get a culture without really getting into the sinuses.
I think that's what you may be looking for.
