i have had chronic lyme for the past 6 years brain fog and sensory nerve damage.. how do i test for mold in my house i don't really have any money

If money is tight, I recommended using Immunolytics’ mold plates. You don’t have to pay for analysis upfront; you can pay for the Petri dishes and wait and see if mold grows before you decide to invest to see what species. Mold plates are a minimum, a place to start. We’re dealing with mold ourselves right now. We first used Immunolytics and then did more advanced testing with Mycometrics ERMI dust sampling. You can also puck up a moister meter and hygrometer fairly inexpensively to check for problems. We did that and also rented a thermal imaging camera from Home Depot. Using all of these modalities, we were able to find hidden mold.

Could you please say more about testing with a moisture meter, hygrometer, and esp the thermal imaging camera? What has it allowed you to assess?
I am interested in the thermal imaging camera, but local Home Depots don't offer rental units.
We are trying to deal with a bad mold problem, but we rent and the landlord wants a quick and dirty fix. We can't afford to move.
I want to test, or have the walls tested, for moisture, as there was a lot years ago. It may be be better now, due to caulking of shower tiles that was finally done a few years ago, but I want to make sure.
Plus the mold has to be properly remediated, which is another issue entirely. I wish we owned, but we don't.

I read online that someone who used to work for the guy who owns the lab said that everyone always tested positive! Of course, everyone may be affected by mold to some degree, but even so . . .
I'm not trying to bash the lab/test. I just want to know more. And is there another lab that is good but less expensive?
I already know that I have had a lot of exposure to mold (still do) and that I'm allergic to mold as well---at least I was in the past and likely still am. So I'm not sure that such a test is warranted now. Sigh. So much to address.
(And, yes, of course, I know how bad mold is).
