Marnie, I cannot take ANY magnesium IN any shape or form without getting diarrhoea. Yes, I have tried Glycynate and all other chelated forms. I am very thin and when I tried IM shots, I very quickly ran out of buttock space! I was all bruised and very sore and i had to give up the shots as well. I don't think it made any difference in how I felt anyway. Didn't help my bad arrhythmiae for example.

Nelly,
Have you tried magtab sr? I get diarrhea from every other kind of magnesium, but this has worked well for me..with no diarrhea. It's also a very good one to really work effectively in your body. Dr. B recommmends it as well.
just a suggestion..you may have already tried it. it's found in every drugstore over the counter.

It's an effervescent form of magnesium citrate. Normally that would not be a form that is very well absorbed, but they claim because it is in liquid form, it does absorb.
I have no idea if this would be true. How different is this from grinding up a pill and mixing it with water, I wonder?

Have you been on abx and taking probiotics - lots of them - all along?
Do you have a "leaky gut"?
How much Mg, how often "didn't make any difference"? Did you take a little B6 with each dose?
How are your other electrolytes...Ca, K, Na?
Lots of variables.
