In the beginning of Lyme I had horrific stomach pains and bloating with heart palpitations and shortness of breath.
It all went away with lyme and babesia treatment. I got rebitten in late spring of this year. Went to gastro doc and she said it could be SIBO.
But from what I hear the rifaxim treatment doesn't last very long so I am thinking I should just start the doxy I have and see what happens.
Of course...along with probiotics and biofilm busters.
Have others here had bad bloating, stomach pain etc that stopped with antibiotic treatment?
I am reading that Lyme alone can cause this even if one has not been treated with antibiotics(cause most docs would say that the yeast overgrowth itself would cause this problem).

- Lectins and Oxalates (in some plants) are in a post on your other thread about the vagus nerve. Those also relate to the kinds of symptoms that are on the SIBO symptom list.
Be sure to take doxycycline WITH FOOD and do not let your torso recline for a half hour, or it that one hour?
But be sure your food is low oxalate and low lectin. I hope that helps.
The thing about doxycylcine is, though, that it can cause lyme to be chronic. It does not address the cystic form at all. So when lyme spirochettes get the doxy, they retreat deep into the body into their cystic form.
And they can come out later. Please consider a combination treatment if you do doxy. IMO, doxy - nor any antibiotic - well, antibiotics should never be given to anyone with lyme
unless also a Rx or method to treat the cystic form of Bb is also on board.
Often antibiotics cause "leaky gut" and probiotics can't always prevent that.
You might explore the work of Stephen Buhner on what combinations might both be of help against lyme but also help prevent / repair leaky gut. -
