My doctor suggested that I add charcoal to my protocol. I am hesitant for two reasons:

1. I find it to be very constipating.

2. My understanding is that it absorbs nutrients, supplements, meds, etc. as well as toxins. unless taken hours apart.

When and how can charcoal be taken effectively?

Thank you.

Take it at night before you go to bed, or if you have a habit of being up in the middle of the night ( using bathroom or grabbing a drink) leave them in your bathroom or nightstand and take them then so enough time has spaced out. Someone on this site mentioned that was what her husband did and it helped alot. As for the constipation that comes with the charcoal intake I'd certainly up the H20 and take Turmeric Curcumin 1,000mg 2x, made me right as rain....I've dealt with chronic constipation most of my life and that's the only thing that has worked. Maybe too take the charcoal every other day, or every few days? Good luck! [Smile]

Take psyllium husks capsules along with the charcoal. Its supposed to help keep things moving.

My hubby takes both together during the night when he gets up to go to the bathroom. That way its taken far from any other supplements.

My LLMD also recommends activated charcoal. I get the Takesumi brand.

Drinking mangosteen juice ends constipation for me. I get the Mango-Xan juice version - either from the store or it can be ordered from Pure Fruit Technologies.
