I am starting ceftin and rifampin this week. Is there anything else I should be adding to this protocol such as probiotics, etc. Still struggling with cognitive issues and balance.

linda, most importantly is a detox protocol that keeps flushing out the dead toxic matter. You can search detox on this site.

But you also need to understand that killing causes a build up of fungus and candida. What is your doctor recommending for removing fungus and candida.

Probiotics will not control either one. Abx will cause candida in your body to explode. When the bad guys die off they produce a fungus, which is more toxic than the bacteria themselves.

Be very proactive in helping your body rid the after effects of these abx. Warning on rifampin....be prepared for some mental/emotional reactions.

thank you very much. She did not prescribe anything else unfortunately. What do you mean mental/emotional reactions on rifampin, why? This makes me very nervous and no, she did not mention that either. ugh.

You might be ok with rifampin. One never knows how a drug is going to react in their body. But many report rifampin makes them an emotional wreck.

Just don't be surprised if you start feeling more depressed, crying easily, frustrated etc. That's why I believe it's so important to be supporting the detox part of this.

The gut is very much connected to the brain. If your gut is screwed up, your brain will also be screwed up.

You can't just kill your way out of this mess. That's not how it works.

TAKE PROBIOTICS THE ENTIRE TIME. Take two hours away from antibiotics so they have a chance to take hold.

Watch the diet too .. low carb, no sugar.

Probiotics helped me when on antibiotics. I never got candida.

Some also take the healthy fungus called S. boulardii so the candida has competition.

Probiotics mandatory, 2 x daily, away from food.

I have always taken Nystatin during any protocol.

Also detox drainage products. I use these;

Lots of water through-out the day.
Stay in the battle, you can do this.
