Anyone get a slow, pulsing, intense yet dull pain on side of neck, going into head a tad? Not a muscle. I could almost not stand it. It kept me awake. Was going to call the doc if didn't stop as was about 12 hrs. Scary.

neurological pain due to damage to nerves is a common symptom of Lyme disease. especially radiculopathy - which is inflammation of the nerves coming out of the spinal column - usually in the neck-shoulder area, my partner had this. in her case it was so painful she lost the use of her arm for several weeks. and yet a detailed CT scan apparently showed nothing.
however, it can be caused by a range of other conditions so best to have it checked out

I'm not even sure what dr to see. I dont think it's the shrug thing as it's not bone related.

It's happened again, can't sleep. So went to the er. They did an mri and mea. Nothing was found. But this pain is ridiculous. I can't down 4 advils everyday. Any ideas? Throbbing right now.

No, you can't continue to take Advil every day. You'll get gastritis, and then you won't be able to take it at all. This happened to me.
For the pain in your neck, try hot compresses. The warmth will increase bloodflow to the area, which will increase the oxygen and nutrients the cells get. This reduces the pain signals they send.
Does taking just aspirin or tylenol reduce the pain?

I've tried that and it does nothing. Thought of using ice. In another group they think it's babesia and lyme. And also suggested to massage lymphs. I'm not sure if this person has exactly what I have, but I'm treating mold now and in terms of order of treatment, who knows when I get to co infections. I certainly can't live with this. It's possible advil helps, but usually it acts an hour later, so may be coincidence.

I never got any help when doing accu in the past. Once the needles hurt so much I cried. I eat a few high oxylate and Sal foods but not daily. Would medical cannabis help? Or topical nsaid creams? Sometimes after this pain I get a bad headache. Really interfering w sleep.

Neck pain is usually Babesia or Babesia like organism. Try herbs or colloidal silver.

Someone else said that yah. I do take a collidial silver nasal spray for mold. Once/day. And actually, the pain started many weeks after I started it. Sigh

I was sent this information by a poster on Lymenet who has used/uses them and it has helped with pain:
"The SOTA LightWorks uses LED light therapy to reduce inflammation and pain. It works in a different manner than magnetic therapy, but is VERY helpful.

if it's extreme and unresponsive to pain meds its likely nerve pain -
topical NSAI drugs applied topically in a gel - can help - and are not hard on the stomach or microbiome if applied topically
Stephen Buhner -recommends several herbs for relief from nerve pain - from memory Kudzu root Coralroot Chinese skullcap full protocols can be found in his Lyme disease books and online I have used Kudzu and Chinese Skullcap and Uncaria Rhynchophylla and found them very helpful for long term head/eye pain - the same herbs work for all nerve pain - as its usually the same mechanism - the breakdown of the myelin sheath of the nerves that are causing the issues.
failing these - you could try TENS (electric never stimulation devices for pain management) pretty inexpensive, safe and I know some people who say it has helped them a lot with back pain and even labor pains.
cannabis works well for some people for chronic pain

My lyme doc, or the one I see for lyme, had no comment on it really. I'm treating for mold and many supportive herbs and vitamins, as well as houttuynia and jap knotweed. He wants to do mold 1st so dunno if I should add more stuff. Do these herbs kill anything (thus poss herx) or more supportive?
