I lost pituitary function due to Lyme. So, I wasn’t being replaced properly with estrogen (replacement hormones are BAD, don’t ya know!)or growth hormone. Without both, bones and teeth become demineralized and brittle. I’ve lost teeth and had a very bad ankle fracture in 3013. I’m 61 years old. This is not normal aging. Make sure she gives up all carbonated drinks. If you have a soda stream, give it away, now. Test for bone density, bone turnover markers, and make sure estrogen is in the normal range. Many docs look at a marker IGF-1 for growth hormone effectiveness, but in adults, it doesn’t correlate well. At least get a few measurements to find out why her spinal column is collapsing. See a very good orthopedic doctor. Again, absolutely, positively, no carbonated soft drinks.
