Yes, my LLMD explained that to me as well. Unfortunately it is alot of trial and error for many. Just adds more stress and frustration.
Also I wanted the copper iud because it's hormone-free.

I don't believe you add something to your body when you don't know much about what is causing your current health issues. I learned this lesson at 23 yrs old the hard way and was infertile afterwards.
In thyroid disease world copper is an issue. In Lyme & co world everything foreign you add to the sick body can be troublesome. What little immune system function we have, is even more troubled.

i would also vote no for the same reasons as given above - you are dealing with enough as it is at the moment and don't need anything else that might inflame or irritate your immune system
you might also consider barrier contraceptives as preferable in this instance, since its not really bottomed out if sufferers can transmit this organism or other co-infections sexually.
