Havent been on here for a long time. Been taking abx and herbs for almost 15 years.
In that time I did do several rounds of the triple IV abx protocol a month each time, and felt FANTASTIC, but it didnt last. Im a Biologist, and can read the research. I thought given some of the recent posts, this might be helpful.
IF you are female, you are 4x more likely to remain chronic...they dont now specifically why, but follows the pattern of women being more suceptable to autoimmune conditions.
Having another infection that lowers your immunity. Babesea duncanii in particular is very difficult to knock down. They dont know how to get rid of it, and it knocks out your killer cells .
Unless you are able to get rid of the round body forms, and the biofilm, and the spirochete, you wont get well. It turns out the round ody forms are most slow growing (requiring far longer treatment) and they produce the most intense inflammatory response.
The other theories like your vegas nerve or immune dysfunction are less well understood. The difficulty is that you can try to readjust those things, but if you still have infections, it will only undermine your efforts.
Detoxing can make you feel better, but again, it wont last if you dont get rid of all the forms of lyme
Stress is tricky because being sick in itself is a stress on the body. Also too low cortisol can actually lower your ability to fight infections.
I keep at it with the meds and supplements because everytime Ive stopped, I et a new serious symptoms I cant get rid of. Proably what I need is 3 months of the triple IV abx to make it last. But I spent a boatload of my life savings on natural treatments that in the end were largely inefective.
If you want to go that route, do yourself a favor and pick herbs that have some scientif studies to back them up, like Samento, Banderol, Cyptolepsis, japanese knotweed, and artemisia. Some of these are also good for Baesea, but I never noticed any diference in my bloodwork

Thank you for posting that great information.
I've been getting better through treatment. What is proving to be a real challenge is 2 detox blockages: methylation and sulfuric. Do you know of research about that?
I wonder if having detox blockages predisposes one to chronic LD, or if LD causes the blockages.

I dont know of any studies looking at detox protocols and lyme disease. They might exist, but I never saw them.
