Hi Lymenet, my friend had a bullseye rash w/Lyme and is on doxycycline. She is 70+ and had rheumatoid arthritis, an autoimmune disorder, but is not on immune suppressants.
her MD prescribed doxycycline (not sure the dose, I am asking her, I read 200mg bid) for two weeks and I suggested she ask for at least 4 weeks, maybe 6.
Looking for info and experience here.

I agree. Two weeks is not sufficient. Good luck getting the doc to write for more. Meanwhile, please warn her not to lie down for an hour after taking Doxycycline. It can cause a harmful, painful esophageal reflux.
And to take it with food in her stomach to help prevent stomach upset. I take it with a tablespoon of peanut butter.
