Just met with llmd. Feel terrible for months. Aches, feel weak etc. Labs. Came back positive for Borrelia. Starting Doxy and Ram ? For two weeks then on 6 week different protocol. Feel God awful and she stated it might get worse as I'm treated.UGH

Glad you finally have your answer to your health problems.
Glad you have a LLMD and will start treatment.

You write "Starting Doxy and Ram?"
It's probably Rifampin, which many LLMD's prescribe.

Please read this article on how to avoid feeling worse during treatment.

I am sorry that you have Lyme and looks like maybe Bartonella, but thrilled that you found a good physician to address your health!

A heads up on Rifampin. Many find it hard to tolerate. BUT!! They feel great afterwards. So don't judge what is working until you are off of it.

I found hot Epsom Salt baths with baking soda very helpful for body aches. Start with 1/2cup of Epsom salts and work up to 2 cups per bath as tolerated. Sauna can do a similar action.

Anti-inflammatories as stomach tolerated. Stay hydrated. Make sure you are not constipated.

Be careful with binders. Every one says to use them. But it can make you feel worse because it can pull toxins too fast. I have never used a binder and got my health back.

Which reminds me. Be careful who you listen to. I would stick with your doc. These days everyone is an expert online!

You can get better! It just might be a bumpy ride. This is a marathon, not a sprint. So hang in there.
