Dr Shoemaker...the actos/questran mold doc....thinks that high amounts of Nitrous Oxide cause vasodilation, etc....

after reading this...I come back to read Marnies post.

She describes what HAD to be happening to me 2 years ago when my immune system went NUTS!!!

I do know that I reacted to mold in a VERY nasty way.....and when they operated on my maxillsinus to remove an oversized polyp...it was covered in a GREEN slime.

I also had tremendous weight loss...I am the opposite of many of you...I can't seem to keep it on.

So at that time I was on steroids to reduce the inflamation in my sinuses, and Levoquin to kill the sinus infection.

Talk about the herx from hell...combined with a suppressed immune system...no wonder I was "NUTS"

Flushing skin....Multiple Chemical Sensitivity....Paralysis from the neck down at one point.

So......Bb, mold, babs, bartonella....holy CRAP. Funny how things S-lo-wly spell themselves out.

I had noticed through the year a tremendous ability to know WHEN to cast for my favorite fish....when ever the weather would change I would literally get goose bumps....fall asleep....shiver, or get emotional.

I believe that I had a tremendous amount of mold in my sinuses....along with Lyme, babs, and bart.

WOW!!!!
Thanks Marnie....once again, you proved to me something I felt deep inside was right.

That is why the questran pulls so MUCH junk out of me and I herx.

I do believe Dr Shoe is right on the toxins being released mucous membrane into the BBB affecting people and making them struggle neurologically.

Trout

NO (nitric oxide) research led to the development of...get this...Viagra!

Yes, vasodilation.

Questran, long term, depletes some vits.

Questran may interfere with the status of vitamins A, B12, F, E, K and with folic acid and calcium.

Ayurveda teaches that toxicity is acidic .

How to counter acidity? Head for an alkaline diet at that time (herx).

Acids, neg. charges help, but too many harm healthy tissue. Too alkaline sets the stage for cancer. The NK cells, natural killer - first line of defense against cancer - find a pre-cancerous cell and "squirt it" with a free radical...a NEG. CHARGE!

Restore the balance...carefully.

Wow! Marnie, what a post.

This took me days to sift through. My lyme brain is awful right now. My original search was on nitric oxide and I got here.

Here's my confusion: I recently ordered a book on Nitric Oxide called NO More Heart Disease and basically it endorses a protocol of a couple of amino acids and other suppliments to produce nitric oxide. The NO is supposed to reduce the risk of heart disease and circulatory issues.

Then somewhere totally unrelated I read about an alternative practitioner who has a product which helps eliminate nitric oxide since it is a waste product?? of ammonia and contributes to brain fog in lyme patients.

Then, I see on this site the article about nitric oxide and adrenal suppression. Yikes!

So is nitric oxide a good thing or a bad thing?

If anyone has a short answer (or actually any answer is appreciated ) I would love to understand this better.
