You get what you focus on. Pessimists see what is wrong in the world. Optimists see opportunity. Yet, it's the same world. What do you see? Whatever it is, it's a reflection of your consistent thoughts.

Your focus gets and keeps you well or what makes and keeps you ill.

It took me a while to figure that out to be the absolute truth.

Take care.

I figured this and more out while reading "Happiness is a Choice" by Barry Neil Kaufman. A great book.

Kw3ls ... I think that's the same book I read. It was great! There's another good one titled "Love is a Choice" by Hemfelt, Minirth, Meier.

Happiness is a Choice is a must-read!

You're right, Gigi!

Yes, it is! It has inspired me alot.

Another great book by B.N. Kaufman is "Son-rise: The miracle continues". This book tells the story of two caring parents who were told by specialists that their son had classic autism and that it was incurable.

They were advised to put their son in an institution, but they refused to do that. Instead they tried to help him themselves. They spend many hours a day with him giving all their hart and soul, trying to get him out of his retirement. Finally, they succeeded.

When they took him back to the many specialists" who had labeled their son
with "autism" they were told that the diagnosis was made wrong, because autism is incurable. Nowadays it's still considered to be incurable by the establishment.

GiGi,

I love all your very optimistic posts.

You are so right. When I'm feeling down, I take out my wonderful book titled: "You Can't Afford the Luxury of a Negative Thought".

This book has gotten me through numerous "down" times.

In fact, I keep it in the kitchen, so I can pick it up often.

Page l2 states: Every good thought you think is contributing its share to the ultimate result of your life.
--Grenville Kleiser

There's more. It's a thick book, but an optimistic read!

There is so much truth here!

For awhile, I had felt defeated, depressed, and resigned to being in pain for the rest of my life.

Then, God showed me the way.

As soon as I changed my outlook, I began to feel better. I no longer take naps, I'm able to function almost as normally as I used to.

My personal outlook is paramount to my recovery. I am so thankful for faith, hope and love. It keeps me healthy!

I cannot STAND negative people. They make me want to floss with barbed wire.

There has, however, been a few times myself when i thought I was doomed. But, I never gave up. Never will either.

Its not a choice, its an option. And I opt to not be sick forever.

I have a rat. YES a rat, a rodent LOL that helps me through my bad days,

but more than anything- I help me through them.

Negative people need not apply around my house

Wow Gigi, I forgot about this post.
Every ounce of this is true, stay away from negative energy, and focus on healing your own body.
I think one of the most important things i have learned while i have been ill is to focus on myself, and me only. Not to compare myself to others, we are all different.
If someone dosnt understand your lyme situation, let them be. They are not walking and talking in your shoes.
Focus on the priority, getting well. Educate yourself, do your homework, and get to someone who can diagnose your problems. Remember, the easy way out, is most of the time, the long way.
