I am so intreigued by this hallucination stuff- I must say- as I have had the muscical- and have seen some weird things- I am wondering what visual hallucinations you get??

I just see shadows out of the corner of my eyes quickly, or sometimes a light mist like flash of gray, white or charcoal color etc, weird things like that- don't know if that's a visual hallucination or what it is honestly- I am just used to it now.
Wondering what other peeps get

Rose

Roses,
I have the same visual experiences you do. I see shadows out the corner of my eye and shadows running past me (it moves by me like our cat, but isn't our cat!). When I ride in the car, it looks like a car/truck in the lane next to us is moving into our lane! So I jump around the front seat a lot....

Ain't life grand.....

LOL well I grew up in a 'haunted' house-literally- scissors flying across the room lights on and off, family members seeing them-uncles etc too, so when I started seeing this stuff again I just figured it was more ghost crap honestly LOL but now ya'll saying visual hallucinations-I was like- umm- do I have that too and I don't even know it??
LOLOL!
I liked it better as a ghost I think
-and no- I am not telling my ID I see shadows out of the corners of my eyes... LOL
I don't want a str8 jacket to go w/ my 'post lyme syndrome'

Rose,

I hope you are still here, because I just answered your c-ya post...

anyway-I saw dead mice, and things move, my one daughter saw rats, and "talked" to people that weren't there. My oldest saw a monster hanging from her ceiling fan in broad daylight.

As for the real ghosts, i experienced a lot of weird happenings at my friend's house as a child...very scary...attributed to a poltergiest, said my mom....

Take care, if you are still here! terter

I see flashes out of the corner of my eye at night. But last night my light turned into a giant rat. Funny thing is I thought it was a friendly rat. Don't know if it was the ambien or the hydrochlorquine.

I dont know if it was from the Lyme or the ambien at the time but when I first got sick years ago I saw rabbits running accross the living room floor. after taking a closer look at them I realized they were my sneakers and the laces were still tied and looked like bunny ears, crazy huh?

Never happened again.

OHH! I forgot one!!!!

I saw a tall man in a black or dark green cloak standing in the middle but far distance of the hallway in the HOSPITAL right after my spinal tap...

I was like-
OMG grim reapers here for me already?
LOL
I saw him once, put my head back down some, shut my eyes and was still 'off' due to the body/stress I guess w/ the tap- was all woozie, and then opened my eyes again, saw 1/4 of him as I was laying down, lifted my head alittle to be sure it was still him viewing the rest of him (fuzzy view thou- head was shot), and then laid back down again and told myself maybe they took more spinal fluid than they should have..and then I didn't see him anymore-
ROTFL!
(shh don't tell my ID)
hahah-Grim Reaper- but he didn't have a sickle at least...

Grim Reaper!!?? Thats not funny LOL- it reminded me of something i stashed in my memory box ( for later use, after lyme)

When I was about 14, I was outside at night with a few friends ( one who happened to be very religious) and I we were all goofing off chasing each other. I freaked out because I saw a tall dark shadow with a hood literally walking across the yard for like oh five seconds.

Religious friend took me to her religious mom who told me I was doomed. Sweet, huh? Guess she was right afterall! Hey, maybe thats when I got bit by a tick? LOL

My hallucinations have ranged from mild to full-blown freakouts. When I was younger I used to see occasional flashes of light, walls that seemed to be moving, things like that. Then about 3 years ago during a relapse things got really weird.

The whole world became distorted. Walls covered in blood, knife-wielding monsters running around, dismembered bodies lying around, not a pleasent experience. Thankfully that doesn't happen anymore.

I used to get real vivid visual hallucinations of all sorts. Walls "breathing" things "melting" and the like, then I stopped droping acid....

but as far as the lyme induced ones I get the peripheral vision ones mostly. The scariest one was once while I was driving I saw the car in the lane next to me suddenly cut in front of me and stop! Thank God this flashed faster than I could fully react to it, I only had time to look in my rearview mirror to see if I should stop straight ahead or attempt to go around him. When I looked forward again there he was cruising just where he had been the whole time. I had to pull over my heart was beating so hard. This was one of early sx of this last relapse.

I haven't had any in a while. I definately get them when I am sleep deprived but thoese are most likely associated with waking dreams than actual hallucinations. You can tell the difference if they happen when you are "spacing out" while sleep deprived; then they are most likely waking dreams. The spacing out is the begining of Alpha state in most cases...day dreams...sleepdeprived mind=waking dreams.

My 11 year old who has lyme sees bats chasing him and bees also. He's described other hallucinations but I can't understand them. I know they scare him so much (gee why wouldn't they).

I've always had the flashes of light and problems with my periphery but no other hallucinations.

Then I was in a car accident in August and got much worse. I started seeing a black dog! This stupid dog would walk around my house (we have no dog). Ofcourse I thought I was crazy (sure i am) but the doctor at the time said it was from the car accident.

Luckily the dog went to a new owner and I haven't seen him in a few months!

My hallucinations happen when I would first go to sleep.

Last night I had one. I hadn't had one in a long time. I increased my doxy. Maybe that is why. Maybe it is a herx.

Anyway, in my hallucination, I saw a hand come out from behind my pillow and try to smother me.

I use to have them where I would see things come out from the ceiling and people sitting in the other room. No one would be there. I use to see what looks like a shadow come by bed to put something over my face. This would all happen right after I would fall asleep.

It is very frightening especially when it is things that you think could hurt you. It could kill a person with a bad heart.

Well, thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

For years I thought spirits & angels were visiting me. Cloudy vision, white spots & dark shadows. You mean it was lyme after all? Bumber.

When ehrlichiosis was killing me (truely)
My Nana, other Grand Mother, and 2 Great Aunts that I loved so dearly came to me and all put their hands on me. I felt total absolute warmth & love in the center of my body right in my heart. It was really cool. So I like to think they did come to me
and it was not the fever of 102.5 that I had.

I have been in haunted houses & witness stuff. My house was built in late 1700's.
sorry to go on. Cool stuff.
Vee (I'm not crazy, just a lymie)

Interesting post!

Maybe I have just excused the flashes and whisps of shadows as "all in my head". Never attributed them to Lyme.

HOWEVER, I have experienced my vertical blinds splashing...like water. Same with my berber carpeting...anywhere there were patterns they would move like water. Geez, it was almost freaky fun to watch.

I was real light sensitive, sound senstive,e etc. My family had a hard time believing me about those things.

That freaky stuff hasn't bothered me lately. Been in treatment almost two years.

MARIA (FIRSTTWIN):

The cause of your hallucinations may not be the same as for the other posters.

Hallucinations that occur during sleep onset are a hallmark of narcolepsy. Other signs are cataplexy (weakness, especially in response to high emotion or being startled) and sleep paralysis (being consious but paralyzed around the time of sleep). If memory serves, the cataplexy and sleep paralysis can be followed by extreme fatigue. Narcoleptics are also often sleepy.

It's worth looking in to, if you haven't already.
