I've had some really weird tongue symptoms during the last two weeks.

My tongue feels like it is burnt (it's not), swollen (it's not), rough like sandpaper, and twitching (not sure).

I've been chewing acidophilus regularly to make sure that don't have yeast.

I'm not having any speech problems (other than the usual tongue twisting that has been happening on/off for months now) and no swallowing problems.

Has/does anyone have these problems?

Is this symptom caused by lyme or by another co-infection?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

I have a rough tongue and am thirsty..but I also have thrush too..

A dry tongue can also mean your autonomic nervous system is screwed up..so I've heard..and I know mine is..

you probably have oral yeast or candadiasis.
especially if your on abx.
you may not be taking enough acidophillus and taken it doesn't prcludes you from getting yeast injection
get difulcan 150mg 1-2 doses should cure it.
you may also have a metallic taste, coating of the tongue, gums or cheek as one of the symptoms. you can also get vaginal yeast infections from abx and this can be treated with over the counter vaginal yeast creme

Hi mathias, I had this burnt tongue thing too. It was like I ate something too hot. I think it was when I was taking doxy. It went away when I switched antibiotics. I didn't have any yeast at the time.

Prior to treatment, I was the queen of the burnt tongue. We've had a lot of conversations about this weird symptom if you'd like to do a search.

It appears to be very common.
