I just started getting some joint pain, mainly left leg and left elbow. Is this a sign of a specific stage in the LD, or a specific location, is it co-infection(s) or just part of the package?

Thanks,

Tim

just part of the package.
are you on abx yet? do you have dx of lyme from a llmd?
can get joint pain at any stage of lyme from acute to chronic.
usually accompanied by other symptoms also.

I would say it's part of the package also, but some people do not get joint pain. I have had joint pain for a long time and it does get better with treatment.

Good luck to you.

My hubby did not get any joint pain until he started ABX. All his issues were processing. (but then he IS a guy...heehhehhe)

After he began Bicillin injections, he started having pain in his elbows first, then in his knees and hips. It DID go away, along with the cognition stuff. He is doing much better now. (and off his injectables and still on orals)

It definitely seems to be just "part of the package". For me, there seemed to be several types of joint pain; first more or less a "standard debilitating arthritic" kind and then an "electrified kind" that made it fell like I was getting a shock when I tried to do anything.
At first I had considerable muscle pain, too, and swollen lymph nodes.- these might have been caused by coinfections, but the joint pain was probably mainly lyme.
My entire skeleton seemed to hurt! But gradually, after I started treatment I got better and better. Hang in there and dig up all the strength you can- it might be a long haul, but if you get on decent treatment you will start feeling better! If nothing seems to be improving, tell your doc and try a new antibiotics combination.

This craps kinda neat in how it can hurt instantly in spot for 2 weeks then gone overnight only to show up somewhere else overnight in another place. Amazing! Iam starting to think it was designed and not by the creator.

Interesting reply Treepatrol. hmmm....makes you think. I have constant joint pain all over my body. But it does switch from place to place daily. I could be fine one minute then the next pain....just my experience.

This migrating pain is amazing and quite baffling.

Before lyme dx, my boyfriend and I used to joke - my big toe hurts... no wait now it's my pinkie.... no wait now I cant feel my fingers..... AHHHHH - of course underneath the laughing, for me was the question "what the heck is wrong with me?"

This dx has been the best thing ever for me, cause at least I know it's not in my head and there really is something wrong ---- better yet that can be fixed!

And, after tx for one month, I already feel less achy.... So I am optomistic ---now if I could get this darn fatigue and brain fog to magically disappear I'd be perfect!

thanks guys. FYI, I have been on Biaxin/Plaquenil since end January and then added weekly Bicillin shots 6 weeks ago.

The joint pain / tendon pain just started a few days ago. Yesterday night it was really bad but this morning it started to get a little bit better. Let's hope it continues to improve.

Could it be that it is the result of die off at these locations?

My all over body joint pain came on all at once, after having terminated all abx treatment. I had been on i.v. abx for over 6 months during which time I improved greatly. Then after about 6 months, I relapsed, and this time it included joint pain.

I started the Road Back's protocol of low dose minocycline, which they use to treat Rheumatoid ARthritis. Then learned of Dr. Marshall's work which combines minocycline with Benicar. The Benicar reduced the joint pain by maybe 50% the first day.

Interesting.
