Has anyone heard of the anti-candida product Candigest from the British site http://www.gutdoctor.co.uk/ ?
I did a search on Lymenet and it doesn't look like this product has been discussed before.
The product description sounds impressive because it says it kills yeast by using an enzyme, not anti-fungals, and as a result it does not cause a die-off reaction. I've got queries into some Brits who have tried it to see what their experience was.
This is from the website:
Because Candida's cell wall is made largely of cellulose, The cellulase enzymes found in Candigest digest it, which kills the yeast without causing die off. These enzymes are entirely safe, and Candida cannot become resistant to them. In addition, they work very quickly; within 3 days for common localised yeast infections, and within six to thirty days for more systemic problems. Candigest, for effective Candida control without die off.
1. Contains no anti-fungals, so it cannot damage the liver 2. Does not provoke the yeast to produce toxins, so 'die-off' reactions are avoided 3. The yeast cannot develop a resistance to it
I emailed the UK company that makes the candida product that is not supposed to create a healing crisis due to die-off.
I had found what seemed to be a similiar product in the U.S. This is his reply:
Candex in the USA and Candigest in the UK are similar formulations. Our most recent product is Candigest Plus, which also contains protease, and has been trialled very successfully by the Uk candida society, with 60% of triallists describing it as excellent. These sort of triallists tend to be 'hard cases' who have had candida for many years, and have tried many products, so we were pleased with the results.

Yes. Infact when I started reading your initial post, Candex is what came to mind. Candex "eats" the Candida, so there is no "die-off" reaction.
Candex is a good product. But, as with any Candida product, it must be started out slowly. You will need to "build-up" to the required dose. If you don't start out slowly, you could end up with many trips to the bathroom.
