LJames-

Can you tell me how you take the colixen? the dosage , with food?, which brand? I too have leaky gut, and systemic yeast.

I have been off my abx one year now and believe most of my remaining symptoms are these two "critters". So hard to heal the gut and get rid of yeast.

If I fall off the strict diet, I seem to pay for days. I take slippery elm, l-glutamine, grapefruit seed extract, oil of oregano, fresh and freeze dried garlic and aloe vera gel.

You've made me stop and think, maybe I too need to concentrate on just the leaky gut first and lay back on the herbs.

Thanks. Please keep us updated how you progress with the NYC doctor.

I use colixen from Ecological Formulas (provided by my practitioner) and take 1-4 tabs 3x/day 10 minutes before meals.

I also use Metagenic's Glutagenics (also provided by my practitioner), which is mainly L-glutamine; one teaspoon three times per day. I have enough of the Glutagenics for a month.

Just to confirm one area of conflicing advice. Some Lyme patients have been told to deal with metals first, that candida is simply a result of metals in the body. Others have been told to deal with candida first, to at least get it under control, before moving to metal detoxing.

This is an area where I have received conflicting advice, and honestly, I don't know which is correct. However, I am currently following my candida practitioner's advice and trying to get candida under control before tackling metals. I may be wrong in following this advice, however, I tried it the other way..doing metals first..and that didn't work, but it may have been something in my particular treatment, and not the theory that was wrong...I just don't know.

Back to the protocol...once I get the intestinal lining re-established with these products, I'll begin to ramp up the candida killing herbs and see if I can withstand the full die-off reaction this time. Remember that the initial killing herbs I'm taking also kill worms and parasites, which create their own toxic die-off reaction.

That is one reason I am also looking into the salt and C thread on this newsgroup. I have looked at their site and it's tempting...dare I combine prototols?

Anyway, I hope this helps
