Steroids suppress your immune system. If your immune system is suppressed, it cannot fight Lyme or any other bacterial disease.

If you're contemplating one, ask your LLMD to be safe.

I personally stay away from steroids of any form, lyme seems to be very opportunistic and when the steroids repress the immune system, even locally like a cortizone shot into a joint, lyme throws a party. I am missing a half inch of bone in my left shoulder due to this. An old injury was acting up so I went to the doc and he gave me a cortizone shot, I had yet to be dxed in less than three months it went from a "little inflamed" to needing chromeoplasty and having that much of the bone removed. The doc commented that he never saw a bone degrade that quickly before. After being dx with lyme I went back to him for some other joint problems in my hip. We talked about my shoulder and he said it was probally the lyme and steroids that caused the dammage and he wished he knew I had lyme at the time. Can't blame him I had no other sx except and old injury flaring up. Having enough intelligence he just gave me some anti inflamatories for my hip and told me that the abx should stop any further problems.
As far as other "shots"? I would avoid anything that suppresses the immune system. Find a good LLMD and be sure to have a good working relationship with him/her.

I had a "triger finger" and took Colodial minerals (gold) the strong stuff and it melted it in about two weeks. I wound up canceling the surgery the doc was peeved and had me spell exactly what it was the I took, brand and all. Then he said, oh, it went into remission, it will be back. That was over ten years ago, ah, it hasn't come back.
Just a thought. The coloidal minerals are kinda strong so I don't know how they will interact with your other meds so check with your LLMD or a GOOD naturopath not the goober behind the counter at the health food store.

Are the (gold) meds..oral? or injuecton? Never heard of them.
I am also having problems with the nerve that runs threw my elbow to my hand that has caused my little finger and finger next to it also half my palm to be numb. Do you think that could help that too?
Just happy I am not left handed...but have found out in the past few months how much I do use my left hand.
Thank you for the info ...and thank all who have responded.

The Coloidal Gold as it is called are just coloidal minerals not the coloidal silver. It is a liquid that I mixed in with juice to drink. It is readily available at health food stores. I strongly suggest pineapple juice because it masks the tase of the stuff the best. It has a strong minieraly tase (go figure).
It has been a while so I don't remember exactly what the doses were but there was a bit of "getting used to it" phase that lased for about a week (?) where I felt kind of crummy while my body "detoxed". It was nothing like a herx I just felt run down. What I wouldn't give for the dayswhen being "a littlt run down" was a problem!!!
