Those of you who have had cancer and lyme,
can you please advise me? My friend with
breast cancer had the lump removed, but tests
reveal it wasn't all taken out.

She has to go in for surgery again, but
showed me her leg, and I know she was bit.
I printed her the rash pictures and she
is getting tested.

She'll have to do a Bowen or Igenex, won't
she? The Western Blot (the Elisa stinks)
any better for early bite?

Hi ArtistDi,

Will your friend's doctor prescribe antibiotics without waiting for test results? If she has a Lyme rash, then that is proof of infection...no need to wait for test results IMHO.

Is your friend going to do chemo and/or radiation? Having untreated Lyme while going through these rugged immunosuppressive treatments is rough and risky to say the least...that's from my own personal experience.

Best wishes to you and your friend.

Katy, I will call her later today, but she
has to undergo surgery again on the breast
and then do radiation. I told her she had
to do antibiotics because the lyme would
run down her immune system.

The ducks are very dumb here in New England
despite the prevalance of the illness. Now
anyone who has even the slightest thought
of being bit comes to me. I just sent another friend in my town to lyme doc, and
she was told she most likely had it. Did
all the testing and put her on antibiotics,
but I am most worried about my friend with
cancer.

She says this is all she needs.
