Me: A Western Blot off-the-scale-positive bad case lymie and for three months now been a variation of abx protocols. Zithro, then Zithro and omniceft, then Omnicef, then Doxi and Zithro, then Doxi alone, then Ceftin and Tequin and now Ceftin and Doxi.

All have been really kind to me, with the exception of a few trips to bathroom when Doxi and the Ceftin just didn't wanna stay down. Can't complain much about that.

BUT now...I am a guy and 10 days ago my stomach would bloat ASAP when eating a light meal or dinner. I mean BIG doesn't start to describe it. My wife's eyes would just pop out when she saw her husband 12 month pregnant with an elephant. NOT KIDDING. Never seen anything like it, I have trouble breathing and if I could post a photo here, I would, as we took "evidence" for the LLMD. Now, ten days later, I have practically had to stop eating as I have bloatedness 24/7, but more worrisome is the fact that my upper stomach, the triangle-like area right below the breastbone. Is this correct? The upper part of your tummy right under where the ribs aren't connected in the middle anymore..sorry about the poor description as I don't know the medical term. This area is getting very very sore to the touch and I feel stabbing pains and cannot take deep breaths because this hurts. Now I can only eat broccoli, small carrots, a few cherries and water.

Gas is still omnipresent regardless and I don't do anything but relieve gas the natural way ALL the time. If I hadn't, I truly believe I would explode like the glutton in the Monty Python movie - anyone seen it?

I take all the asidophilus and bactillus supplements ordered by my LLMD and Milk Thistle and this and that etc etc and I counted like 12 containers of different stuff I that I balance with taking the ABx. I am a good boy and I am on a yeast protocol as you can tell from the above intake (forced such).

Of course I will contact my doctor on this but he is traveling abroad, returning in 2-3 weeks and this is very bothersome (4 sleepless nights already) so I was wondering if any of you have had similar experiences or if this is truly highly symptomatic of Candida etc. I must say I haven't read that yeast makes your stomach stab with pain, ulcer-like. What the heck is this then? Could the TEQUIN have done something like this. I know it is hard on tendons and I am off it now. Anything else that comes to mind? Can't find anything here on the subject, thus my post.

Me again, and sorry that my post got soooo long. Michael.

What symptoms may be caused by Candida?

In the First Stage of Candida, the mucous membrane areas of the body may be infected. These include the mouth, vagina, nose, and Respiratory System. Besides vaginal infections, severe P.M.S., urinary tract infections, body rashes, acne, and oral thrush, ALLERGIES to foods, dust, molds, fungus, yeast, inhalants, and chemicals are the most common symptoms. Each day more people seem to be allergic to everything in their environment. Repeated bouts of bronchitis, sinusitis, tonsillitis, and strep or staph infections may be typical. Mononucleosis and pneumonia may also be noted. It is easy to perceive that each of these successive illnesses requires more and more antibiotics, which may open the door for further Candida overgrowth. Talk about a vicious circle!

The Second Stage of Candida may involve more generalized reactions such as PAIN, HEADACHES (including Migraine), EXTREME FATIGUE, PSORIASIS, INFECTIONS OF THE NAILS, MUSCLE ACHES, JOINT PAINS, AND ARTHRITIS. Naturally, drug after drug is usually taken in hopes of alleviating these miserable conditions. In most cases, the SYMPTOMS alone are being treated--while the CAUSE (Candida overgrowth) may be literally being PROMOTED at the same time!

The Third Stage of Candida may involve MENTAL and BEHAVIORAL RESPONSES: Inability to concentrate, not being able to read or follow a television program or carry on a hobby, serious forgetfulness, memory loss, mental confusion, not being able to think of the words to say something, switching around of words and letters when trying to speak and/or write something, loss of previous skills (such as how-to-type or how-to-play-the-piano, etc.) These frightening problems may often lead to "HOPELESS CRYING" SPELLS, SEVERE DEPRESSION, SLEEP DISORDERS (may include insomnia, confusion dreams, nightmares, apnea, and not feeling rested or restored after sleep), IRRATIONAL THOUGHTS, UNUSUAL FEARS, PHOBIAS, PANIC/ANXIETY ATTACKS, MUSCLE TWITCHING, IRRITABILITY, VIOLENCE, AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR, and even EPILEPTIC SEIZURES and THOUGHTS OF DEATH OR SUICIDE. Sometimes people with these symptoms are labeled "Mentally ill", thought to be suffering from manic-depressive Psychosis or Schizophrenia. These desperately sick patients are sometimes turned over to the care of a psychiatrist or hospitalized in a mental institution. They may be given antidepressants, tranquilizers, lithium, etc. to lighten the mental symptoms. . But the CAUSE may be overlooked and the patient is not CURED on a long-term basis.

A person in the Fourth Stage of Candida may experience a virtual SHUTDOWN OF VARIOUS ORGAN SYSTEMS of the body. For example, the adrenal glands may stop functioning when the Endocrine System fails, or the Digestive System may stop, producing vomiting or severe constipation. The extreme fatigue may escalate into TOTAL MUSCLE WEAKNESS, such as the neck muscles no longer being able to hold up the head. The body rashes may escalate into HIVES or BOILS. The Circulatory System may be swamped with so much yeast that the capillaries are clogged, causing HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, NUMBNESS OF EXTREMITIES, and EASY BRUISING. The person may run a low-grade fever, but the hands and feet will often be very cold. The HEART may develop TACHYCARDIA (palpitations, irregular beats, mitral valve problems or heart murmur). In the Respiratory System, the alveoli (air sacs) of the lungs may be packed with yeast so that the person cannot get adequate breath for speaking, singing, or exercise; there may be a FEELING OF SUFFOCATION, which may lead to HYPERVENTILATION and PANIC. The complete failure of the Immune System leaves the body defenseless against all enemy bacteria, viruses, and disease conditions--including cancer.

The Fifth Stage of Candida seems inevitable at this point: rampant systemic Candidiasis is 100% fatal unless it is diagnosed early enough to kill the yeast overgrowth and regenerate the Immune System.

Oh wow, I have almost every symptom! I can really relate to the bloating and trouble breathing, that is a very uncomrtable symptom that I used to get quite often!

I got an Rx for Diflucan and Nystatin, is that enough or do I need the diet for a long period of time along with anti-fungals (natural) such as oil of oregano and caprylic acid, etc? I am in the 3rd stage at least and the mental symptoms have been VERY bad lately. I have been scared I was going nuts or something

Any advice is greatly appreciated,

Rapturegirl

Hi frenchbraid,

Thanks for the reminder of how serious yeast is. It is difficult, however, to separate Lyme from yeast symptoms, which makes it even more difficult to rid ourselves of it.

I have been trying for some time now to eradicate or at least to better control the yeast.

When you posted the "spit" test, that is what I use each morning to check and see if anything I'm doing has worked...so far, no luck. I still have it.

And, that is after being on 1 week of Diflucan l00 mg once daily, along with 6 nystatin daily, Candex, Yeast-Defense caps, and low-carb diet with absolutely no sugar.
Oh, and lots of good vitamins and supplements.

Granted, lots of foods have sugar already in them, but I try, anyway.

Getting rid of yeast, I'm finding, is a full-time job! I fear it will take a very long time to clear...but, we gotta keep tryin'!

Thanks again for reminding us of how serious a problem it is and how vital it is to constantly try to rid ourselves of it.

Francis:

Go to the doc. Your gallbladder and liver are in the area you have pain. Your liver is on the right side and sorta lays diagonally just under the ribs. You can sort of tuck your fingers up under the ribs - and if it's enlarged you'll feel a hard area.

You're definitely having digestive problems, and since you're bloating so badly just after eating - you need to get these 2 organs checked. out.

Hi lifeline,

Just remember, don't get frustrated. Candida is a stubborn bear and can take literally years to rectify. We are still addressing it. We have it under control now, but we have yet to completely rid ourselves of it.

I'm personally not a fan of Diflucan or Nystatin. From what I've learned, those products can actually agrivate the situation. I prefer other options like Garlic, probiotics, Candex, eliminating processed/refined foods, etc.

You're on the right track. Hang in there and know that your efforts aren't being ignored. For every less carb you eat, you are making a less hospitable environment for those darn buggers.
