i posted about 3 days ago saying that i was bite buy a lot ticks on friday. well, now i'm in a slightly panicky sate of mind. Some of the place where i was bit are rasied and pimple like, and very itchy. i alos devleoped a rash on my neck, but wasn't bitten there. The simple act of someone touching me sends chills though me, 'cause it hurts alittle, and my joints kill me. I did have stuff done to my knee, acl replacement, and an active horse rider, but the pain is bad. i've had lymes before, doxy 6 times and 1 IV treatment, and i don't think i can do it again. my aunt whos a nurse said to wait a month, but i don't know. sorry about complaining, but i don't wanna go though that "stuff" again. also, if anyone can tell me where to look for a good lymes doc, please let know

I can understand your "slightly panicky state of mind," but if possible, try to remain calm. You should find some help here.
I know your aunt means well, but I would NOT wait a month to see what happens. Doctors often say the same thing, but that just gives the spirochetes a big headstart!! Makes treatment more difficult.
You've posted in "Seeking a Dr". Hope info will be e-mailed to you right away.
If you haven't done it, check the "Support Groups" at the top left. There may be people near you that could be very supportive & give you valuable info.
Do you know what dose of Doxy you took the 6 times before? Was it the typical dose of 200 mg/day or was it 400 mg/day like Dr B recommends in his Guidelines?
If you know the dose, it could be a big clue about whether your earlier case of Lyme was still present. www.ilads.org/burrascano_1102.htm pages 16-18: Antibiotics (dose & length of treatment)
Would the dr who treated you before treat again based on multiple tick bites & symptoms?

I'm sorry to hear you've got it again. That's the worst thing about lyme- you don't build immunity; in fact, you can't even be sure if this is a new infection. But now you know what to do- you need to find a lyme literate doc, and I mean pronto! (can you go to the old doc or was he.she not lyme literate? Be sure to treat and test for "co-infecrions" I hope you treat it quickly and strongly enough! DaveS

Waiting a month, or waiting an hour is horrible advice. You need to get on aggressive doses of antibiotics immediately and stay the course until its totally gone. You must be checked for co-infections and treat them as well.
You also have to change your attitude. You have to do this, you cant give up or say you cant go though this. You have no choice, you have to save yourself and dive headfirst into treatment and dont miss a pill. You can do it!
