I have a question...is anyone else highly affected by the weather? It is so muggy and supposed to rain and thunderstorm today and I knew it before even getting out of bed this morning. My hips and legs hurt so bad! I am in so much pain and I have another LONG day with my 3 and 5 yr old boys. Anyone know causes this reaction to the weather?? I would also like to know if it affects anyone elses symptoms and what I can do about it when it happens.
Thanks.
Nancy

YES! This is a common, common complaint of us here. Some patients even swear ( like me!) that the full moon increases symptoms. I was just talking to my g/f about that last night also,as she has that problem too.

Muggy, foggy, rainy days drive me INSANE with head pressure, migraines, fog ( which I NEVER get anymore unless the weather is screwed up) and neck pain.

Lyme is an inflammatory disease- just like arthritis is- and inflammation gets worse in this weather.

I take two advil to try to help me out and when all else fails and the kids are taken care of, I stay the heck in bed!

I have reacted that way for years--but I also have fibro and osteo arthritis. I was just diagnosed with lyme in March but looks like it is a matter of what came first the chicken or the egg. My lyme infection came from over 15 years ago and I have gotten sicker and sicker over the years until my brain started to go.

I recently moved to Charlotte where I was by a fluke refered to a a doc in Huntersville and low and behold lyme, lyme eveywhere and on IV therapy--

On your subject I am like a baramoter I know by how my body feels and my sinuses what the weather is going to be like. Today cloudy and muggy here--body hurts from head to toe and have all around achey feeling in my joints.

The weather absolutely effects me. Yesterday and today have been brutal. Low pressure weather systems always do it to me too.

Way YES! It's usually any big CHANGE in the weather, or VERY cold weather that makes my symptoms flare. The beginning of January was very difficult for me. March and September are bad months due to season changes. My son is autistic and had a stroke, and we flare TOGETHER with neuro symptoms during those times and probably drive my husband crazy! No one would convince me there's no connection between, weather and seasonal changes and symptoms.

Me too -
The muggier and more humid it gets the more tired and achy I feel. Same with pressure - the worse the headache.

Pre-lyme humidity and pressure would sometimes bother me, but definitely more so now.
