These past weeks have seen a really bad increase in my floaters. It's like I have webbing in front of my eyes. And it seems to be getting even worse. Is there anything to help with this?

Is it common for them to get much worse when you begin treatment? Do they get worse before they get better?

Do they ever get better?

I have many floaters as well they drive me nuts. I haven't heard of anything to take for the floaters. If you haven't been you might want to go to the eye doctor especially if you are taking plaquenil. The eye doc told me there is a simple safe surgery to remove them. I am just worried if I remove them now they will come back. If and when I beat Lyme the first thing I am going to do is have that surgery.

I have heard of people who have beat Lyme say that the floaters are gone or atleast very minimal. I don't know how that is possible because floaters are tiny cells in the vitreous that get detached from the walls and float in your field of vision. Once the damage is done I don't see how they would go away. I have noticed that somedays the floaters are worse then others. In the bright sunlight they are the most noticable.

Hi duke77,

I thought I remembered hearing someone say their floaters went away. I'm much to chicken for any elective surgery.

Is it possible, do you think, that the body might be able to eliminate them in some kind of detoxing action once the lyme is gone?

I mean if they are cells, couldn't the body theoretically "sweep" them away?

Just a thought (and a hope really).

My daughters' Dr just prescribed drops to help with eye problems...Restatis. Not sure how good it is since we just got them. He said it should help with all of her eye problems.

I think eye problems are related to infections and once the infections are removed the eye problems go away. My eyesight has been 20/400 for years now it is 20/350 and improving. One antibiotic that seemed to help the floaters is Flagyl/metronizdole.

Today I am using electronic devices for treatment. One device produces a powerfull magnetic field, and is called the "Doug" coil. Once in a while I hit the right frequency or something and it causes the floaters do dissipate. However I have not been able to reproduce the effects.

One of my theories was that the floaters were spirochetes. Now I no longer think that. They may be some sort of nematode, or pinworm. There is a pinworm that goes for the eyes in animals. We know we get opportunistic diseases this could be one.

When I was real sick I could clearly see these long transparent worms with three or four spirals swim across my vision. As my health improved they developed dark spots and started breaking up. Eventually they are reduced to just lines and dots.

I had floters before Lyme. They are a bit worse now. But they do come and go. Yes, they are in thr fluid but they can settle to to the bottom and then you no longer see them.

Several of mine have cleared. Then I get a new one but it usually clears also. They can take several onths to go away.

I ony have 1 or 2 persistent ones and I have gotten used to them. Hope your settle soon.

Hi bd,
They certainly do look like spirochetes. I think I saw you post this somewhere one time, now that I think of it, and when I heard it, I thought to myself, wow that's exactly what they look like.

I know about the Doug, but don't have the money to build one yet. Do you use any other machines?

Lymemomtoo & robi, thanks for the info & for answering.

I also use an "EMEM" like device. The frequency generator goes to a power FET and then to a car ignition coil and on to a 12 volt power supply.

The output of the car ignition coil normally goes to an argon filled tube. Now it goes to a metal plate under a sheet of glass. I stand on a sheet of plexiglass and place my hand on the glass. It seems to work as well as the Doug coil for a lot less money.

Also you do not need the 1500 watt QSC amplifier. Some have used the QSC 850, and I have tried a number of other amplifiers. Generally you will need over 400 watts.

If you use a coil made of 18 or 20 gague wire it will even work with a 100 watt amplifier! The magnetic field strength is still very strong but the coil will overheat in 3 minutes or less. However you just treat 3 minutes rest 7 minutes treat 3, etc.

My sister in law was going to be an eye doctor and she said floaters are bacteria. Almost everyone has them all the time on some level. So Lyme would obviously make them worse and the only thing that would make them better would be whatever meds you are taking to get rid of Lyme. Or so I've been told.

I have had floaters ever since I got sick about 27 years ago. I have been on Heparin for 89 months and the last 4 months I rarely saw any floaters. I stopped the heparin last week at the doctor's instruction and wow! they started up again but are not frequent .... yet. I am watching this and other symptoms to see if they return or worsen after getting some better on Heparin.
I just wrote a friend and described them as nymphs. That may be a close as any other idea that they are part of a bacterium, etc.

Thanks for the info bd. Can you tell me where you got your EMEM? (Hope you didn't build it, cause I'm still trying to absorb how to build the Doug.) I'm trying to decide which machine to get.

Do you have a pulser? Any experience with it?

The info on the Doug is very valuable to me as I have been considering building one but it seems like I just can't get my act together. There are so many things to consider and just so much money.

Thanks so much for this info and thanks to everyone for sharing.

Sorry, I build everything myself. I hope to add more info on building an EMEM on my web page as I have had people ask me for it.

Basically you need an older car ignition transformer, a 12 to 16 volt AC adapter, a signal source (can be your sound card in your PC) and a Power FET to make it. Optionally you can use an Argon tube or just a sheet of metal under a sheet of glass.

bd,

Can you provide me with a link/address to your web page either here on by private email?

Also, which of your machines do you think helps you the most?

I know they are very different and it may be hard to say, but I would really appreciate knowing if you think one is "better" than the other.

Thanks for your help.
