Last night while awake in bed I felt a burst and terrible pain in my tongue.I got up to find blood coming out of my tongue.This morning the blood has stoped but the tongue still hurts.Has anyone else had this happen and dose anyone know what happened?

I would say a yeast problem are you on ceftin it made my yeast grow in my mouth sore tounge split. Try acidophilis capsuls take apart and hold the contents in mouth till completly disolved.

I guess it was about 2-3 thimbles. I don't believe Iwas chewing or anythink like that,I was just lying there. The pain was on the right side of my tongue(right where the blood was coming from).Thanks for the replys.

Pup,

Defintely need to keep an eye on this. Do you have any lumps in your neck or swollen lymph glands? It may just be an abcess that built up in your tongue, and something you ate caused it to rupture. If this is the case, your tongue should start to get better and heal like a normal wound. I would buy some Listerine Anti-Bacterial and gargle with it for a while to try and kill whatever microbe caused the lesion. If it starts to get worse, defintely see a doctor.
