Can anyone brief me on the best dose for rifampin and whether it should be used in combination with anything? Thank you

Rifampin is used for bartonella, nothing else. Dosage is 600 mg per day.
It SHOULD be taken in conjunction with doxycycline to treat bartonella, but there are other combos.
Are you seeing a LLMD? Rifampin is nothing you want to self treat yourself with.

Thanks for your reply. Can you recommend other combinations for Bartonella? Rifampin is a tuberculosis and Clostridium difficile drug and I agree quite a big gun.

I believe Cipro along with a macrolide (Biaxin or Zithromax) is an effective combination some have used for Bartonella.

I am currently taking Zithromax with rifampin. (For bart) (And, it works.) I agree....this is a biggy for someone to self medicate...wouldn't suggest it.
