Hey everybody this is Denise (miamilady) --my dog just woke me up and on The TV was an announcement -- NBC NIGHLY NEWS - WEDNESDAY -- CHRONIC LYME DISEASE?????
It had Tom Brokaw's picture if that helps.
I was watching Deborah Norville on MSNBC if that helps someone look it up to check what time and channel for tommorrow. Geez - could this be actual Primetime exposure for Lyme? Take Care and sorry to take up so much room. We are all doing well for a change. YEAH!! there is hope!! ---- Denise

Hi there,
If this is true I hope they don't fudge it up. I guess any publicity is good however in the long run it's at least a breakthrough.
Down here(up for some) in Safety Harbor(near Tampa) Florida the Nightly news comes on at 1830(6:30pm) and with bright house it's NBC channel 8. I think that's the same for all the cable outfits.
I skrolled to the time slot on my tv but of course all it said was "news 30 mins".
So I will have picture in a picture at 6pm through 8pm so as not to miss it if it's on another NBC affiliate.

Thanks for the heads up...I'll pass it along to our Tampabay board.
the zman

I am up this morning watchin Imus and heard the same thing. It turns out that I am giving a lecture today on Lyme. They used the term "chronic Lyme". So perhaps some real news.

I just saw the promo for it, but didn't hear the whole thing. I did hear inability to focus, concentration problems, AND "we don't know how to treat it". Can't wait to watch it. Think I'll tape it & bring it to my family doctor.

I think there will be a text version of some sort on NBC's website. I will see if I can get that and post it here tomorrow if it is on tonight.

Elsewhere someone said that whether it gets on the news will depend on if they have the time. In other words, if the breaking news takes too much time, it won't make it.

Let's all hope for a slow news day!

Nightly News tonight
From a tiny tick, a growing health problem across America. Even doctors admit they don't know how best to treat their patients. NBC's Robert Bazell gives you the crucial facts about chronic Lyme disease.

Hi Ann,

I was just going to post the same link.

Looks promising, I just hope there will be story posted about it after it's aired, as currently I can't click on it to get any more information.

I am so excited he used the "C" word!!!

BUT..I hope this isn't the same old report showing both sides: "chonic infection vs auto immune disfunction...."

My father used to work for NBC....now his wife, daughter, and two grandchildren are suffering from lyme....how great it would be if NBC broke this into the mainstream! I called him in Dallas, and he's going to Tivo it...sorry...just hopeful and excited!!

I don't know if it will make a difference, but I sent an email thanking them for the coverage and explaining why I felt it was important and how ignorant I found the medical field re: the matter.

If you go to the web site, there is a section for contact nightly news.

Perhaps if they get a flood of information before hand they can add some to their report.

I included the Lyme Disease Association, Igenex, ILADS and lymenet as the best resources.

I find this VERY promising, particularly since I taped Tom Brokaw's report on this last year which ended with "experts say many people wandering the streets today in a state of psychosis may simply be undiagnosed lyme disease".

I think this man has a grasp on the topic. He keeps reporting it, is he holding back? He gets pretty darn close w/o coming out with an expose of LAB 257 etc.

Very sorry I missed this post until his report was over tonight though.
