I posted my story but haven't heard from anyone yet. Please reply.
I also wanted to ask, how long can someone live with lymes before we die from it, especially when it effects the heart?

There are others that know more than I do, but I put my two cents in on your post. Most are probably asleep right now. You will get more responses tomorrow.

Hi, I replied on your other post. You said you have been tested for other forms of Lyme. Do you mean for co-infections? The tests are not always accurate. You really need to see an LLMD.

Hi:
I have been misdiagnosed for 9 years....I have been to 17 different doctors,,,,numerous blood works,MRI's, Spinal Taps and Bells Palsey for all this time...I even had a doctor tell me, Thank God my daughter was with me,,,that it is all in my head!!!! Hang in there, I finally found a LLMD through lymenet. I have been on Rocephin IV for 8 weeks..My dr. wants me on for 4-6 months..although I dont think My Ins will cover...Anyway,,,see a good doctor and you will feel better...IT is not Hopeless..Good luck

Hi,
Just want to chime in to say, "Please find an LLMD quickly." Anything short of that & it will most likely be a fiasco.

Most of us have limited energy & limited money, so go ahead & use your valuable resources to find an LLMD.

I'm not trying to give you false hope, but sometimes insurance will pay your basic CBC lab work and for your prescription meds, even though they refuse to pay for the office visit.

See which labs your insurance uses & ask the doctor to use them.

EXCEPTION: Your Lyme Test will probably have to be paid for up front. Lyme Testing from Igenex (ONLY Elisa & Western Blot tests) can be reimbursed to you, but you still have to pay in advance.

Igenex Lab will send you the forms with the correct codes for each test for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

I've heard some folks say that Lyme tests done by MDL were paid by insurance---not exactly sure.

Or, your Doc might want to do the Bowen Test for $250 cash which tests for Lyme, Babesia & Erlichiosis. Insurance will not reimburse on this.

Also, when you see the doctor, explain that insurance doesn't cover the visit.

Tell him face-to-face (not the nurse) that you're paying cash for the visit today & you were hoping that he sometimes makes allowances in these cases and perhaps can reduce the fee a bit.

Tell him it's kind of tough without insurance. Always try to do this if you're paying cash. Remind him each visit.

Take a leap of faith & things somehow will come together.
Take Care,
Jan
