Does anyone have any experience with taking colloidal silver? If so, did it help your lyme disease?

I haven't taken it but have heard it turns people grey. I also caught an anouncement of a tv progam on the bad things of taking it. However i missed the program.

I did however read a book of a doctor who took it and was pleased with the results of it. He had lyme.

Hi,

Here is a 1995 letter signed by Willy Burgdorfer, Ph.D. to the NIH-Rocky Mountain Labs. The lab tested silver on Bb.
http://www.xpressnet.com/bhealthy/bhealthy.html

You'll have to scroll down to Booklet page number 15 to read the letter. The booklets above the letter are interesting, also.

To me, there is good silver & there's bad silver.

In the late 70's some docs were still using silver (medicinal type - I'd have to research the name-sorry!) to spray on the bandages of burned patients.

One little girl had pulled a teapot on her chest. Every few hours the nurses would spray the bandages soaking wet with a solution of silver. Then she was covered by a sheet to keep warm.

It was rough on the child staying in a wet sheet in the hospital, but it was the doctor's preference because he believed it would yield the best results & reduce risk of infection.

I can only say my personal opinion about silver. If you use cheap stuff, it will either do nothing or over time, do you harm.

It does take loads of research to figure out if it's really for you or not.

I would try to reduce my bacterial load first with antibiotics because Lyme is a deep tissue infection. Maybe, if I could afford it I'd use it for maintenance after I was in "remission."

Pre-lyme diagnsois I tried everything.

I have used Mild Silver Protein (MSP) called Silvicidal 350 ppm. manufactured by Strictly Supplements-----a company formerly known as DEDI. It is registered OTC (over the counter) with the FDA.

This is tea-colored. Personally, I wouldn't buy clear silver--- but that's just me.

Anyway, they will not ship in freezing weather as the bottles often break. One broke in the mail to me & they replaced it.

Simply Supplements sells this. http://www.antiaging-systems.com/a2z/silver.htm

This is a great place for articles on silver also.

Address is: Strictly Supplements
35203 SR 54
Zephyrhills, FL 335441
702-547-9009

The 4 oz. bottle $46.25 (internet price) is very concentrated.

This is taken from their 4-page brochure I recently got in the mail. It's some of the interview by James Kimball, the president of DEDI in 1999.

Interview:
Every colloidal silver product tested by DEDI revealed the presence of silver ions. For the most part, alleged colloidal silver products today are made electrically creating an intensely ionic substance. Silver ions carry with them inherent dangers:

1. Silver ions are toxic to most cells, the good and the bad. Although silver ions are capable of killing the "bad-guys," the bacteria, viruses and fungi, etc., they have the exact same capability of killing CD-4 and CD-8 cells and other immune system cells, thus reducing or destroyig the immune system. This type of therapy is obviously counter-productive.

2. Ingesting an abundance of silver ions could well be toxic not only because it may destroy the immune system, but also because it has the distinct possibility of injuring or destroying internal organs leading to death.

3. Research regarding silver ion solutions also reveals that silver ions are directly involved in the serious side effect-argyria- the permanent discoloration of the skin to a grayish color.

However, Silvicidal produced by DEDI (Strictly Supplements - now) is void of silver ions, therefore, it does not share any of the inherent dangers previously stated regarding silver products that do contain silver ions. Silvicidal is additionally void of nitrates, which most other products contain and they too are inherently dangerous.

The National Institute of Health (NIH) assisted DEDI in determining the exact particle sizes that were lethal to viruses, bacteria and fungi.

End of Interview

You just have to make a judgment call about silver because it's difficult distinguishing the hype from fact.

I'm just putting this out there as it's the best silver I've come up with. I think folks should have a bottle on hand for colds, flu, etc.

If you use silver, use it according to directions & drink water.

I just don't want anyone to get hold of bad silver----be careful!
Take Care,
Jan
