I'm having a bad day today. I'm so scared that I don't know what do to. What do you think my odds are at beating this? I got the bite back in Oct/Nov. Didn't start treatment until a little over a month ago. I've been on abx for 34 days. I'm seeing great progress with my joints. Now I just want the disorientation, nausea, blurred vision & fatigue to go away.
My main questions are:
1) I've had Lyme for about a total of 8 months...being treated for a little over a month...does this make it "easier" to get rid of it?
2) How long does it usually take to feel better.
3) Will the disorientation, blurred vision, fatigue go away?
4) Will I be able to get past this and live a normal life? Will I be able to enjoy my life and have another baby?
5) While I am on abx...is this disease spreading?
These questions may seem silly. But how do you guys deal with every day living?
Do any of you feeling a sense of always being "scared" or have a heart burn or heaviness in the chest feeling?

Bless your heart been down this road. First of all the fear feeling is normal your going threw a dramatic change and one you cant control. I also had fears of dying along with this.
The heavyness on the chest is also a normal feeling with lyme make sure you breath deep we have a tendancy to breath shallow.
As far as the question, can you get over this only time will tell. So many factors plays into the mix such as age and what strain of b you have co infections if you do or dont have them. Your previous health and bodys immune system. Some people get well quick others take time. Some not a hundred percent but enough they enjoy life.
That said Keep trusting you will get better this mental attitude will help you to fight it. You will have your down days this is normal to. You will probably find its when your herxing. Sometimes meds will cause this to.
The symptoms you mentioned will pass the more of the lyme you get out of your system. Herxing will make these symptoms worse and sometimes add new ones but keep on going and you will get better.
No the desease isnt spredding with abx. It should be killing it. You may have to change meds from time to time. Because of the lyme changing forms.
This is a rough ride but you can make it and there are plenty of great people here to encourage you and listen when you scared or need questions answered.

jeez loueeza, If what I emailed you thru you into a panic attack...stop it right now...I was just trying to level with you... answers as best I can to your many questions;fear and lonely desparation lead to panic attacks which is just the lyme messing around with the information synaspses of your brain...I know it's hard but don't pay attention to these feelings and do some deep breathing remedies...they will work...in thru the nose and slowly out thru the mouth and think of beautiful places you've been to that were indeed beautiful in mind and speirit... in answering your questions I hope you have your copy handy cuz I am having a kinda lousey day with my monthly flare up myself so I am not going to proof read this so going down the line;
!.I think the earlier you catch this thing the better. Yes the odds in this respect are in your favor if you can be sure that you only have been infected for eight months... more learned lymies and llmd's I have read on this board say treatment should equal perceived infection duration...eight months infection = eight months treatment...or more(i'll explain) I'ts like when the docs give you an antibiotic and twll you to keep taking it even after symptoms are gone so as to not have a relapse because you did'nt kill it all...this is an extremely smart bug and one that is resistant and persistant so ... #3.yes the major disorientation and blurred vision and headlights that look huge at night when you try to drive will subside. They may even resolve completely...you may retain some night vision driving problems...maybe not. I still have fatigue and have tried a new medication just two days worth called provigil that is totally wiring me out...it's doing nothing for pain but it seems to be a psychopharmachological speed...whew...almost like when I get manic...(yes this disease may send you down a white water rapids of emotions) Just realize at all times that it is the disease and not you!!!!!!!!!! 4) Normal for anyone that has a positive lyme test is now different and must be measured in different terms with different standards than when you were not infected...this is hard as hell to deal with but you must in order to go on.....and you will go on or I'll find you and spank the living heck out of you.... 5) your disease does'nt spread while on abx as far as I know...period. It just makes you feel so bad you think your getting worse when in fact you're killing the little bastards and they don't like it...tuff **** for them....
I would hassard a guess as to everyone of us on this net have said and been afraid of exactly the same things you have said and are afraid of...from one time or another...YOU ARE NEVER ALONE We won't leave you and God certainly won't either....
We all hope you are one of the cured folk and never darken our board again...we want to tell folks how we knew you when you were sick and don't hear from you anymore cuz you are cured....it's entirely possible...especially just eight months into this craziness....no sweat....sheesh.
Gotta go for now...remember those emotional feelings of defeat and agoraphobia and fear are just the lyme disease screwing with the wiring in your brain...making you feel you are a sickie...don't let it get control of you...and you have the tools to beat it...abx's friends and prayer...
God bless and good luck the zman

Hi, I am sorry you are so scared right now. I know this feeling well. You have only been treated for a month, that is not very much. I started my treatment 15 months after the bite and the same day I was diagnosed I also learned I was pregnant....you can imagine my state of mind that day....I do not know how I survived but I did and you will too! I have been on abx for almost 2 years and have a beautiful and heatlhy 14 month old. I am much better (go to work everyday, take care of my family), but not symptom free. I stilI fear what is in my future, but not so much as I used to. Everybody is different and it can take months to see some improvement, but it will happen!

Keep reading, here's a link right on the first page where they are celebrating the news of having a first baby, yet they both have battled LD very hard.
Have you read the post for New LymeNet members? Have you gone into the On-line Library (upper lefthand on this page) and read Dr. B's guidelines. These things can be most informative.
For the more knowledge you can get about this disease, then your fears will lessen. You'll know what to expect.
You can really start learning by reading posts, lots of 'em. If something is said that doesn't make sense to you or you do not understand, then click the Post Reply button at the top or bottom of the page.
If you are in a hurry for information, start using that search key with a keyword of something you want to know. It's up under Post New Topic on the page.
Trust me the more you read and learn about this disease the better armed you are.
Are you seeing a real LLMD? or are you just wasting your time? Seeing the correct doctor for your disease can make all the difference in your recovery.
