Hi all,
I'm on my seventh week of mepron/zith. in the last week, I've had a VERY painful spine, from the neck down. i havent' had this since before I was diagnosed. I was on biaxin/ceftin for 5 months and it was never like this. Don't know if i'm relapsing or what; any ideas would help. This is so painful..
tx,
sarah

Hi Sarah,

I don't have an answer for you but I will say that I am in my sixth week of mepron/zith and I have the same symptom!

When I try to describe it to other people, they suggest that I 'slept wrong' or that I 'pulled something'. It so isn't that! My only saving grace has been the heated seats in my car.

This symptom has been going on for me since being on ceftin/biaxin in May. Same protocol, same LLMD? Maybe. It usually lasts 3 to 4 days, sometimes a week and then goes away. My LLMD believes it to be herx-related.

NSAIDS have no effect on it for me - just heat and rest. Ugh.

Hopefully some more experienced lymies will have some suggestions.

Regards,
Emily

Life, have you had an MRI of your Lumbar, Cervical, or Thoracic Spine? Any disc bulges? LLMD said Lyme can exacerbate back problems but certainly a disc problem can give you a painful spine.

Im not on mepron however with the babesia treatment im on i notice sever back problems from the joints to even muscles.

Mine come and go some days worse than others. Perhaps a sever herx. My doc says when it gets real bad back off meds.

Baths in a Jacuzzi as hot as you can stand! That has really helped me!

If it spine pain, nerve related, try hypericum 6x homeopathic...repeated use to pain goes down then stop...if muscle related, arnica at 6x...
