Hi again.
I spelled this new drugs name wrong the last time I posted. Anyone on this new antibiotic?

Thanks!

Samantha

I just completed my first week on Ketek and Flagyl (one week on/one week off). I felt really sick all week, not sure if Herx or if the weather or something was causing my symptoms to be much worse than normal.

I'm to do the "pulse" for a month then have blood work. The script will cover 2 months.

My LLMD told me that Ketek was very similar (same) as Rocephin which I had 3 monts IV this past winter. I had some improvements with it but have lost most of it since I haven't been treated since it stopped (coulnd't take the Biaxin).

Have you started yet? I like to know how you're doing on it too. It's very new here in the states, not too many people have been on it I don't think.

Take care and keep posting abou it.

Thanks for your info. I hope it works for you and my daughter. She is 23 and is to start it later this week. Her LLMD is very hopeful it will cross the BB barrier to help all her neurological symptoms. She also did 3 months of Rocephin and saw some improvemnt but developed gall stones.

Lets keep in touch.

Samantha

When you herxed, what happened? See, I really didn't have any ill effects while on the Rocephin but felt horrible as soon as the Ketek started. Not sure if it was a herx or not since I'd never had that...

Thanks for sharing - looking forward to hearing more about this.

Thanks and take care!

My LLMD just prescribed this for me (800 mg/d).

I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that it works, not much else has so far.
