Hi Pierce,

I had terrible myoclonus from Lyme. I had it for 4 years but it has completely cleared now after 5 months of antibiotics

Here is a good website to explain the different kinds of myoclonus http://www.wemove.org/myo/

I think Myokymia is like a fasiculation see http://www.emedicine.com/neuro/topic235.htm

Are you having problems with myocloonus?

Hi,
I too have myoclonus from LD. One of the types I have is stimulus sensitive, sometimes in some info called startle myoclonus... I have been looking here for well over a year for others with it too.

Below is a website titled-Myoclonus fact sheet. I got it off of the google search engine. Google gives you many sites to explore.

If you have difficulty-contact me again, and I will copy and paste more info here for you. Many people with myoclonus totally get rid of it with antibiotics. Others like me are left with it. I have a severe condition.

For the myoclonus I am currently taking Klonopin-the first drug of choice anywhere you see info for myoclonus. I also take Lamictil. These are ant-seizure meds. I have tried many combos of meds, but have had bad reactions to most of them. Klonopin is my base drug.

Take care, and I hope to hear more from you.-terter

OK...here's a weird one for you...I just read the last link that was posted and think what I experience is Action Myclonus. Whe I lay on my side in bed in the fetal postion for a few minutes and then roll over onto my back and stretch my legs out...then my legs bend at the knees and jerk up to my chest...one big jerk and then several others which then decrease in severity. To control that I have to straighten out my legs very slowly. I just realized that I haven't noticed this for a while now since I've been on Biaxin, doxy, malarone and artemsinin...all at once
