I just got my bloodwork results from my GP yesterday in the mail. He did a Western Blot for all of these different "bands" (I don't understand all of this.) All bands were nonreactive. However, there is ONE thing on my bloodwork that I do not understand and hope that one or some of you can shed some light. I've been doing some research and reallf can't seem to find anything on this. I'm going out of my mind trying to figure out what it may be. Here it is:

Under my "IMMUNOGLOBULINS (G,A, M) SER - my IGA,SERUM is 500 when the normal range is 81-463

Any advice will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

M

P.S. Tin- if you are reading this...I am going to get back to you on your post to me!

Sorry, but, you do not say what lab did this WB. It really depends on the lab as to whether or not they tested for all the bands.

For, "all the bands" from just any lab, may not actually include all the relative bands specific to LD.

Never heard of that last thing.

IgA is generated to protect the mucous membranes, respiratory tract, intestinal region, saliva and tears.

It is not relevant to lyme disease.

My IgA was tested once and was found to be high. I was diagnosed with a mycoplasma infection 6 months later.

Do you have any respiratory or GI problems?
