Hey hey South...

Is this because of an over production of saliva?

Or because of a facial thingy going on?

If excess saliva...

Check and address your yeast.

If your tongue isn't pink and pretty... consider getting treated for yeast.

If it is because you can't swallow.. or your facial nerves are weak.. consider a paralyzed tongue.. or cranial nerve involvement.

Let me know what you think it might be.

I am NOT a doctor by the way.

OK?

I had the same thing. I believe it's a symptom of neurolyme and has improved as overall symptoms have gotten better with treatment.

People who throw spitballs will be sent to their room with NO ice cream!

OK...

If it is yeast...

Nystatin liquid suspension is a rinse that you can use to help kill the yeast. You rinse for 2 minutes.. then swallow it.

It is a prescription medicine... so a doctor would need to prescribe it.

In the meantime.. while waiting..

Take a cup of warm water and mix in about a tablespoon of vinegar.

Swish and spit.

Repeat.

This MAY help cut the yeast for a short time and give you some relief. I use to keep the cup in the bathroom.. and every time I was in there I would use it. Then I used a mouth wash.

Some folks use Diflucan for yeast.. a tablet medication (prescription)... but I like the Nystatin the best.

An important thing to do is cut back ... WAY back.. on sugars. Natural ones or otherwise. Sorry!

Sugar feeds the yeast... so we try to starve it out.

It will be VERY hard to do for the first couple of weeks.. but if you can make it that long.. it will be easier.

Are you taking any acidophlis?

This will also help.. but is NOT a yeast "killer" of sorts. It will help replace the natural bacterias in your system that are needed to properly digest your food.

Now. if you can't get a prescription for yeast right away...

Many folks use.. with good success... a product called Caprylic acid.

It can be purchased at a health food store. It was determined in tests to be as effective.. or more effective than prescription meds for yeast.

I have used it and have found it worked well.

I hope this helps some.

Let me know.

And... side note...

Lyme? who posted earlier here is right. It can be part of a neuro thing with Lyme folks. Kinda the opposite of dry mouth and dry eyes. I hadn't thought of that at this point.. so I am glad it was mentioned!!

If the tongue isn't pink and pretty though.. my first thought is to try the yeast meds and see how they do.

I am not normally a "spitter".. but I suddenly developed the WAY too much saliva and HAD to spit constantly.. or choke. Luckily I was in the woods camping at the time.. alone.

So my "UN-lady like" actions were not seen by others.

Lettuce no if this helps.

I tried Caprylic Acid for yeast and had no success. I went with Oregano Oil instead because reports said it was better.

"Results indicated that oregano oil is over 100 times more potent than caprylic acid, against Candida."
http://www.privateselection.cc/HN_Concern/Chronic_Candidiasis.htm

Only get Oregano Oil that is enteric coated if you can. You can read why in the link above.

I had the spitting problem too. It was non-stop and it was because of yeast. I also developed a yeast infection in my lungs! If you decide to fight yeast, make sure you take psyllium fiber to "sweep" it away. Otherwise you might be in for a drunken experience.

With constant abx intake, acidophilus never gets a chance to re-colonize so it's best to address yeast before it becomes obvious and chronic. I wasn't even warned by the first M.D.(not LLMD) I saw about the effects of abx on gut flora. Yep, no acidophilus for the first several months of treatment. It got really messy.

I've actually been asked at work if I had a problem with alcohol by my boss because I looked, acted, and felt drunk when aggressively tackling Candida. Face was flushed, blood-shot eyes, look of stupor on my face, and an unsteady walk.

I'm still not done with this B**ch.

Remember, Candida isn't just a nuisance..it's an infection!

Yeast/Candida tx: some things work for some that don't work for others so this is not a blanket statement. After 10 years of addressing Candida I find that Nizoral (requires a prescription- generic is Ketoconazole) 200 mg daily for 7 days then increase to 200mg twice a day works MARVELLOUSLY!

Have used all the usual stuff... Caprylic Acid, Nystatin, Diflucan (hard on the liver. Nizoral works!

Acidophilus in proper doses will help balance the flora, but it won't get rid of systemic candida.

Hope this helps,

Magdalena
