Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to drop a line and let you know that I went to see my LLMD today and I've been on Amox. for about 3 weeks with some improvement but other symptoms cropping up that really have me concerned-plus these crazy attacks of anxiety that have me so worried that I'm going to die...I'm sure you're all familiar with my story by now-let's just say I've been a basket case!

Anyway, I was retested for lyme again (he uses MDL here in NJ) because my previous test came back equiv. and told him my concerns and he feels very strongly that I do have lyme based upon all the symptoms that I've described. He mentioned that like many of you had mentioned that everything is getting "stirred up" with the introduction of the amox. and wants me to continue until my results come back in 2 wks.

It was good to have him reassure me that I'm not losing it and he suggested that I try the Effexor XR that my general md gave me to sample for 3 weeks and hopefully that will help me with the anxiety that I'm feeling and all the irritability.

I told him as I was leaving the office that at this point I just want a positive result so that I can get on with treating this...

Thank you guys so much for your encouragement and knowledge and I'll be sure to keep you posted on my results!

K

KLS:

I'm glad you had a good visit with the doc. I agree with him give the Effexor XR a try.

I have a family history of anxiety and have battled anxiety and panic attacks for a number of years. If the Effexor XR works like the other anti-anxiety meds it will take a least a week to make a noticable difference. Don't give up on it.

Did you have an anxiety problem before Lyme? I had my anxiety under control until the Lyme disease. When I have a panic attack I remind myself that noone has every died from a Panic Attack and I do some thing to distract myself. I also reduce my caffine and try to go for a walk or swim on bad days.

Hang in there it will get better!

That is great. I am going to my LLMD at the end of the month and it can not get her soon enough.
Keep us posted.
